    Any rubbing with 285 70 17 KO2’s with 3”/1” lift? (method 312)

    CMC needed?

I get 2 separate answers at 4 Wheel Parts. Probably going with 5100’s with OME springs and something in the rear.

It seems every time I go in, the price for a lift keeps going up.

    Too much to list
I have the stage 8 Icon lift and “had” to do the CMC.

The shop who installed my lift kit also left my front end a little low so I had some light plastic rubbing until I adjusted it up.

A lift doesn't help you fit bigger tires on these trucks. The tire size, wheel offset, and alignment will determine if you rub or not.

Do a search for your tire size and read up on what people do to make them fit.

285/70/17s here. Only rubbed in reverse during hard turns, or deep bumps. Would go weeks without rubbing, then hit a bump and the sound would travel through my spine so I went ahead and did the CMC. I also have a 2/3 factory lift.

3”/1” lift? That leaves you with no downtravel up front.

    A few.
3/1 lift will usually end up higher up front than the rear unless that is the goal

big factor too is going to be the offset with those method wheels and what UCA you are running.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I have had 4wd trucks before but never with lifts. I think the methods are zero offset.

Going from full size to Taco size, I realize I wanted a bit more ground clearance, even though I don’t go wheeling. I do drive on washboarded desert, mountain, snow covered roads.

I was looking for a lift, even (front/rear) or a bit of rake. Not towing or hauling, but maybe a tent in the future. So, that’s back to a bit of a rake.

Did Icon 2.5 stage 5 kit. Installed myself and had rubbing at first. Cut some notches off the bumper and behind the wheel. Heated up the wheel well and pushed in. Lifted the suspension up to the max 2.1” on the coilover. Not sure how much lift j got total (maybe 2.5-3”?) and no rubbing at all now

wheel offset and choice of UCAs are key details to look into. I am lifted on 35s, but I did do the cab relocation along w/ 16x8-10 offset wheels. I wrapped the wheels with 315/75-16 ATs. I also have SPC UCAs as welll.

0mm offset seems to be the sweet spot with these trucks. That's what I have with 285/75/16 and I don't have rub. Even have mudflaps on front and back.

FWIW I run 285/70/17's using 4Runner wheels (15mm offset) with a 1.5-2 inch 5100 based lift. Only had to replace the stock mudflaps with thinner ones and do some heat gun work to the lower wheel well plastic. No rub on control arms or cab mount, stuffed or otherwise. The closest offset you can get to the UCA the key. Milage drops about 1.5mpg vs my 265 all season winter tires, with the 285 Falken muds.

Did you flex your suspension? Like stuffing your wheels?

Most likely it will rub if you cycle your suspension.
