Hello, I just bought my first Tacoma. Its a 2009 with a 3.5 inch old man Emu lift kit on it. I noticed recently that there is a grease/oil like substance leaking out of what I think to be a rubber boot around the tie rod. Is this a serious issue? I plan on taking it to the mechanic soon. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Looks like the power steering rack is leaking.

    I agree.

Check you power steering fluid level.

There isn’t an easy fix. The best fix it to replace the rack.
I wouldn’t bother rebuilding it. Just get a GOOD QUALITY new one.

I had the same symptoms with my leaking rack. Replaced with OEM. What a pain the ass.
