After seven month of dead leads, scouring u-pull yards between Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana, searching FB marketplace ebay and craigslist, multiple ignored messages and calling full service yards. I finally managed to get a rs3200 wiring harness for my 2001 Double Cab. Earlier today while searching at a u-pull I ran across a bent frame and bed of an 03' Tacoma, and what remained of the cab a few rows over. It was absolutely trashed so I couldn't salvage the rs3200 module, glass break sensor and blinking light part but I did remove the 297140-42800700 wiring harness unscathed! (fun fact if you ever want to see a corner of the internet try googling "297140-42800700 ")

Ebay came to the rescue with a replacement rs3200 module (89730-YY140) and a used oem keyfob (08191-00922). They keyfob shell is cracked but I am planning on ordering a colored Scion keyfob shell from the dealership so I don't confuse it with my similar looking Vibe and Sienna keys. I already have a glass break sensor and blinking light part from an old 4Runner wiring harnes I salvaged earlier this summer.

Nice find! I have to say, the RS3200 is easily one of my favorite mods that i've done to my truck. Its right up there with the retro headlights and 4Runner seats.

OP I am glad you got your goodies I am sad that you live or work in a area that you need such a thing.

I guess I should try to see if my doors locks still turn before I lock the doors by mistake.

I just had to throw some wd40 in my driver side lock to get in it today because it's been sitting too long and the battery died. I had a little panic moment when the key didn't turn, lol.

Hey OP - would you happen to know how I would go about getting keyless entry working if I already have OEM electronic door locks?

Sorry for late response, if you already have electronic locks I think you have two options. The easy was is take your truck to a custom and audio shop and have them install aftermarket keyless-entry system/ remote start installed in your truck. (most people don't like this as it involes hacking up the wiring inside your truck)

Second option would be to source a rs3200 or rs3000 system with wiring appropriate harness and a compatible keyfob. (hardest part is sourcing the all the parts to make this work)

Sorry to be so late to the party, but would you happen to have came across anymore of these systems lately. Im having a really tough time sourcing. The only piece I have currently is the non necessity glass break sensor.

You’ve checked under the panel on the driver’s side and you are sure you don’t have the system? Just because it’s not listed as being on your vehicle doesn’t mean it isn’t there. I have a comprehensive write-up on it.

Yeah I checked yesterday and unfortunately I don't have any of it.

The hardest part i think is going to be sourcing the wire harness.

I ended up finding a complete system out of a 2001 or 2002 Tacoma and took the module from that truck and installed it with my keyfob and wiring harness (pictured above) it has worked flawlessly and I haven't looked back.

I still do have my original module and the harness from the second truck but I don't have key fob to go along with it and I've never tested it so I don't know if it works. Also this harness doesn't have a plug for the glass break sensor. I thinking this may be because its part of the module but I'm not sure.

Thats awesome! I dont know a whole lot about these systems because I've just started dabbling in adding things to mine. Does it have the connection for the glass break sensor too by chance?

And are you looking to sell also by chance?

I went back and edited my post, but no this harness doesn't have a connector for the glass break sensor. I also don't have a key to go with it. If you're interested in it and live in the US. I'd sell it to you for $50 shipping included.

Yeah I've read and received so much differing information on both the rs3200 and rs3000 systems that I cant put together which modules/harnesses are need to complete the system with the gbs as well.

I've read opinions that claim certain fobs work with one system but not the other and then others that claim the opposite. Ive sourced a glass break sensor but im not sure if it'll be plug and play with an additional harness or what. But I can worry about that after I have it I suppose. My main focus first and foremost is keyless entry then alarm/gbs.

    Nikko,
Do you still have the item available? I’d be willing to purchase if you have it

I sold the unit to JALLEN but if I come across any more in my travels to the junkyard I'll be sure to let you know.

    It’s ok

Where did you connect these 2x 2 wires? It’s the last thing I need to figure out.

Those are for the glass break sensor and theft deterrent led.

Would this work in a 2000 assuming if I was able to find everything complete including the harness or does it only work in 2001-2004 years?
