I searched and searched and I have seen many threads about the popularity of each wheel but I have not been able to find very much information on the wheels comparative for actual offroading. The methods have the bead grip technology does it really help and are you actually able to air down lower than other wheels? I love the look of the other wheels but I’m really interested in the functionality of the method bead grip. Any input would be greatly appreciated and if there is a thread on this already that I happen to miss please feel free to let me know. Thanks everybody cheers:cheers:

my only gripe with Methods is that the back spacing and offset are lacking. And they are comparatively heavier than the SCS wheels that I have now. No experience with RRW wheels.

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
I have SCS Ray10. I never went below around 16-ish psi. Never had one debead. Only issue I have is the outer face seems a bit thick and my tires didn't have that extra thick bead protector that others do so I gouged the lip of the rim on a few placed.

If you are going to wheel hard, get a wheel that you can get a replacement for in a timely manner as you will bend one at some point.

personally I hate the fact that Method wheels are not hub centric. They use the lugs to center the wheel on the hub.

My buddies that run scs all have 2 spare wheels in storage as they never know if they will be available when they need one.

Does that effect the long term durability? I’m not the most familiar with that stuff.

not that this is a solid fix for that, but I run centering rings on my old methods to make them hub centric. I have not researched the newest methods to see if they have any models that are hub centric.

Interesting. I never heard of that before and I just googled it. Pretty cheap fix.

In my opinion any wheel that is 300 dollars plus should be hub centric period. At least provide the proper hub centric rings.

Sooo after some research the method 703 at least are hub centric.. per there site.. they are built primarily for the Tacoma truck so they are good but others say Chevy and so on not so much…. That’s at least what I understand..

Have both crawled slow and ripped fast on Method and SCS wheels, at or below 10psi without bead issues. YMMV

Considering the same three brands. Wanted Method 700 series originally for the bead grip technology, but not sure if it's worth the additional weight plus having to run spacers for 35s vs SCS Blaze10 or F5.

26.9 lbs Method 703 Bead Grip +0 offset (requires spacers for 35s, +2lbs at least)
    ~26lbs RRW RR7-H -12 offset
    21.9 lbs SCS Blaze10 -10 offset

Is Bead Grip worth an additional 7 lbs plus hassle of spacers over the SCS?

I just got my taco and am been going down the rabbit hole on rims. My current top three contenders right now are Method, RRW, and SCS. What a coincidence that this thread exists. Great thread right here. thanks everyone!

RRW had the lightest true bead locks at the time I was looking for a set.

My SCS wheels are meh. After a couple years the bolts corroded, and the finish on the wheel is starting to fail.
