Ok, the other day I was driving and my RPM was stuck on 3 (foot was off gas). I tapped the breaks nothing, still stuck. I tapped the gas and it finally dropped to around 1.5, which was normal for the speed I was going.

I will say this only happened once and I never had another problem what so ever. The truck is a 2016 dcsb OR purchased in Oct of 2015.

    Wth was that?

Several guys on here have had to have the instrument cluster swapped out for similar issues.

It's seems to be getting a little more and more sluggish. I hate to blame the truck. Think I can blame bad gas?

I need to check and see of my tuck is on the recall list for stalling. So far I'm good on the rear diff, no leak, weep, or seep.

I don't see a logical connection between sluggish gauges and bad gas. Is the gauge correct and the engine was stuck revving?

I know it was a joke about the bad gas, lol. It seemed like it was stuck in high gear as a coasted down a long but not so step hill. It was stuck and 3 RPM and just rev'd quite loudly.

I had this problem once driving home after getting my paint protection put on a week after buying the truck. It never surfaced again and I had the TSB done as soon as I could after. Not sure if it was relevant but I haven't seen it since that day. 2016 off road.

I've had the TSB update. It seems to made my truck a little more sluggish, unless I put the pedal to the floor

Ok, it appears I am not on the recall list for stalling, however, sometimes my truck stalls when shifting from reverse to drive. I already had the tranny software update. Everything else about the truck is great.

When you said it was stuck at 3k, were you moving or was it revving that high at a standstill? If moving / decelerating the transmission will kick down a gear and cause engine braking, especially if going downhill.

How hot has it been in your area? I've noticed truck performance on real hot days will make it feel sluggish when in D, I will usually kick over to S mode. As the day cools does performance seem to get better?

Stalling when going from R to D as in it kills the engine or is the engine running and it's delays to engage in gear? Trans flash TSB Rev1 is supposed to correct, what version of TSB did you get?.

It was revving like it didn't wanna downshift. The RPM's shot up but the truck didn't go any faster. It seemed like a massive stall. Once I tapped the tapped the gas the truck finally downshifted. It was hot outside, but I dont know why that would cause it to stall.

I think we need to clarify, to me "stall" means the engine quit running. From what you describe it sounds like the transmission is "slipping" (not moving when giving gas and in gear).

    Which is it?

If stalling then likely an engine issue, if slipping likely a transmission issue. Have you had the fluid checked the manual method?

Oh sorry, it continued to run it just revved up real high without going any faster. Again, my foot was not on the gas. I don't think the gas pedal stuck.

The fluid was checked by the dealership a few weeks ago. everything was supposedly topped off as they claim.

It was like pulling out from a complete stop in 5th gear. The RPM's shot up but didn't go any faster. Again, my foot was not even on the gas pedal. I was just coasting down a slope that was not steep at all. even at the end of the hill the rpm was up to three until a finally gave the gas pedal a little tap.

This might sound like a stretch but you weren't also running with cruise control on recently during the incident were you?

Is it possible you might have thought you disengaged / engaged cruise and not realised it?

Edit: Coasting downhill, sounds like the truck kicked down a gear to engage engine braking, it will do that either by tapping the brake when coasting or as revs drop more.

It wasn't a major hill, and it was still doing it when I got to the bottom and was on level ground. It was like the gas pedal was pushed in but the truck didn't wanna go..........again, foot was off both pedals, lol. It only happened once so far, im not too worried about it, I'm just trying to figure out why it happened

I don't fully understand what happened but it sounds like you were going down a hill, then RPM's shot up to 3k (that isn't high at all for this truck by the way). Sounds like the auto tranny just downshifted to a lower gear to take advantage of engine braking? I don't see what's wrong?

You say you tapped the brakes, how much did your speed decrease without RPM's dropping? If it was quite a bit then yeah the gauge is probably acting up and needs to be replaced.
