Took my truck to Rowher Flats OVH in Angeles Forest yesterday. First time truly wheelin with it. Went on the Rowher Flats trail. My dad and I both have stock tacomas. His is. 1997 SR5 and mine is a 2021 trd off road dcsb 4x4.
4x4 is needed and lockers are highly recommended. I needed them at the first section here:

Got stuck just in front of the arrow and enabled my rear locker and gave some gas then got right out.
Amazing day overall and would highly recommend going!

Did the Rowher flats trail up until the tower and then took forest routs back to the staging areas. 5 major sections of wheelin which were mostly vertical.

    Dad led in his 97 sr5 v6 4x4.

Got to the top and was rewarded with an amazing view.

Does anyone have any sort of guide on this trail? My 4x4 book is a little ambiguous and watching videos, some peoples routes look trivial and other peoples look intense. I can’t find any sort of offshoot map anywhere to get a feel for what’s there, what can be avoided if too hard, etc.

also some people start out with the reservoir in the background, which looks like the back of the area, other peoples videos is a see a highway, which looks like the front. Is the “front way” the better way to run this the first time?
