Hey everyone, trying to find examples of round lights mounted either in front or behind the grill of a 3rd gen. Looking at hella 700 or 4000 (or something else you'd recommend) not really interested in led bars.

I'm not sure how'd they look out front and it's really hard to find any pictures of anyone who's done it.

Yes but I believe that’s his second gen if he still has it think he has or will be buying a 2021. This is the only pic I could find and it’s a much different style.6FB480AD-14BB-4B0B-A576-1E9B832F0D6B.jpg

LP6’s get mounted behind the grill sometimes. They are kinda roundish. SDHQ probably makes one.

Thanks for the replies. Just curious why it isn't done. Maybe it's just the led bar trend. Doesn't sound like a lower grill light bar would accomplish what I'm after without spending quite a bit of money. Looking primarily for a far throw for seeing animals on the road at night.

I did borrow have a single hella 700 that I mocked up behind my grill. I could definitely see shadowing when I lit it up a five or so feet from the garage door. Maybe this wouldn't be an issue when running the headlights in addition.

Google "ARB Summit Bumper Tacoma" and you'll get pics of ARB Intensity lights mounted on the ARB bumper. Not exactly stock but it'll give you an idea of what it looks like.

They look great on the arb . Maybe putting lights in front of the grill hasn't been done with a stock bumper due to the difficulty finding a solid mounting point? Behind the grill seems to come with its own can of worms....blocked light from the stock grill which I'd need to keep for the TSS.

You don't need them in your grille. You need an 80s style roll bar with a bank of KC lights.

I have Hella 500FF lights mounted on my bumper. The photo angle in the first picture is a bit weird, but I have them mounted equidistant from the license plate angled very slightly downward. They really help with the "dead zone" in the middle of the headlight pattern. Personally, I prefer the look of lights like this to light bars.

Nice! Thanks for the info guys, they look pretty good mounted out front.
@eurowner are those the 4000s? I can't tell. How do you like them? Looks like you may have tied into a front hitch for their mounts, think there's a way to fab up something similar to your mounts if I don't have a front hitch?

@Mopar Mussel looks like you mounted off a after market bumper? I agree they look better than led bars, and will melt off ice where a bar won't.
