What are your thoughts on round headlights on a first gen? I 3d printed some basic buckets to hold 7" jk headlights and I wanted to get you thoughts. Pics uploaded for a before and after..ish comparison

It’s not as bad as I had imagined.

id be tempted to work up some sort of filler panel and see where that goes

Couple of round light buckets to space them out and give you the ability to aim and some fillers made out of old stock headlight lenses that are blacked out maybe could make it really cool.

Hmmmm. The depth is what makes these look great, and that grill. And that more badass toyota logo.

Yeah I don't think it needs to be perfectly flush but they're really far back right now, and he will need the buckets either way, should move them out about 1/2-5/8" at most

I always thought round headlights looked right on Toyota trucks. Maybe they'll make a comeback like on the Bronco. I like the more traditional look, compared to where modern truck design is going.

Maybe we'll finally get away from the 'everything needs to look like an electric shaver' paradigm, and dive right into the 'everything needs LED DRL strips' one.

There are some great lighting possibilities there if Hellas or CIBIE 7" were installed. Full lamp with their proper lens and bulb.

Ran those for years in various vehicles on very rural roads, both are awesome.

@Speedytech7 I just threw the mounts together with my 3d printer. I was planning on building out a retro styled grill as well

I bet if you modified a grill off of a 3rd gen like that to fit OPs truck, it would look pretty cool.

That is what I've always wanted on my 2000. When I searched for threads similar to this 5 yrs ago, all that came up was 1st gen 4runner round headlight conversions or 98-00 to 01-04 Tacoma front end conversions. I would love to do this. Any photos of the final build?
