Hey guys. Just made this account. I have a 2009 Tacoma Prerunner. I recently just got new lower ball joints pressed in and outer tie rods with an alignment done. Now the truck rides really rough. It drives straight but has a weird ride and its kind of hard to drive. It's super stiff. Is this relatively normal? I've only driven it maybe 20 miles max. Steering is very sensitive. Is there some sort of way to break it in? Thanks in advance.

If your new joints have grease fittings add a dab to them. Other than that I’d make sure your alignment settings are within spec and if they are just drive and break the new components in.

May sound silly but did you check your tire pressures, it's possible the shop overinflated them. Otherwise I can't see how doing balljoints and tie rod ends would cause a rough ride if you didn't do anything with the struts or shocks and your alignment is correct.

I recently replaced the rear shocks with some monotube kybs. Tire pressure in the front is at 29 psi and rear is 34.

I’d ask the shop to recheck the alignment.
And if possible, get a copy of the specs.
Post them here I’d you can?

Do you have a lift or different larger tires than stock? Do what others have suggested above and welcome to TW.

Since we're all spit balling here, is there a chance that all of the hardware was tightened back down with the suspension at full droop?
I'd mark my alignment cams with a paint pen and loosen and retorque the LCA bushings and the lower strut mounts. You can do this with the front of the truck on ramps to give yourself a little more room to work while the truck sits at ride height.
