Accidentally drove over a 6 inch curb at about 10 mph, and noticed the ride is rougher since then. The alignment is still good, I don't dip forward when braking, and the rig is level laterally. No leaking of the struts or shocks that I can see. It's rough on concrete slab highways where the continual bouncing is bad, and I also feel every other bump and irregularity in the road more than before. On smooth roads it rides great (of course).

Question: should I get the struts up front and the shocks in back replaced, or just the struts, or just the shocks? Any experiences with this situation? I have a 4WD.

    Thanks.

Seriously, suggest to crawl under the truck to have a look. If nothing obvious, then take it to a suspension shop for an exam.

The forum will just be hurling guesses at what could be wrong.

What you should do is take it to a suspension/alignment shop and have them evaluate it. As @ryanvar stated, it could be almost anything.

Check your wheels .....could have warped one. Curbs are a pretty big point load at even that low speed.

Thanks everyone. I'll have a suspension/alignment shop look it over. I appreciate your advice.

OP, props for wheeling your rig though. Sorry it's now wonky.

    Off a 6" curb or over a 6" curb?

How else are you supposed to test crawl control?

This was my first thought after your alignment checked out. Have a friend shadow you to see if anything wobbles.

If it rides good on a smooth road, there is nothing wrong. If you had something out of whack it would show up there first. One can't trouble shoot these issues on rough terrain. BTW, a 6" curb is nothing.

You should be fine .... probably was like that before just never noticed . If a Chevy Cruze can go over a curb doing 25mph and walked away undamaged .just another day for a Tacoma . But if your worried about take it to the dealer and tell them something doesn’t feel right have them check under warranty play the stupid card . Hell they tell us everything is normal ... so it’s only fair to take advantage of the warranty lol

    I wouldn't call a 6" curb at 10mph "nothing."

No way I'd run at a curb at that speed with no effs given

I had a very similar issue. And long story short my lift needed to be retorqued. However, I do suggest an alignment and full inspection of suspension etc

This ... I once had a tire on my 2nd Gen that wouldn't balance out right. Could only run it on back of truck. Caused a bad vibration when run on front. A simple process of elimination would be to rotate the curb checked tire(s) to the back; see if it goes away, or moves to the back. :notsure:

Wonder if [at least] one of the front struts are blown as that would exhibit the issues you are having. Unless loaded in the back, it is much lighter and likely not as preloaded as you probably braked after hitting the curb with the front. Check for leakage and anything bent where it is attached to the suspension.
