You can always remove leaf springs from packs, but I feel like this pack gets a lot of the lift from the arching, so removing the lower leaf may not reduce the height much.

I'd suggest a more modest pack. I get where you're coming from though.

I was going to install an Icon progressive AAL until I realized my stock springs were shot. This is such an attractive price for a full leaf pack (even comes with bushings and U bolts). It looks like there are 6 leaves, so I thought maybe it would be a soft ride if I removed 2. Has no one else tried that yet?

Hey man, RC is known doo doo
If you have an empty bed get the OME Dakar Medium duty leaf springs.
Old man emu is a tried and true manufacturer

Those are nice, but with bushings and U-bolts they'll end up costing more than I spent on the front. I was looking for a more affordable option.

You get what you pay for. Quality springs are cheap.

Yeah i never heard of them…
And I feel you on wanting to keep it affordable. Im just saying Old Man Emu springs are the most affordable leaf springs I know of with a good reputation. I got em for about $500. Think i used WheelersOffroad

I, myself, could never could really justify buying Deavers

Well they cost a lot more than that now. Also, I am worried they provide too much lift to pair with the 5100s I already bought.

I've used leaf springs from both ProComp and Skyjacker on other vehicles and found little to complain of about the quality of the springs themselves. I would imagine Rough Country being about on par with those.

Be careful removing leaves from any leaf pack though... Removing the wrong ones can leave the spring more vulnerable to bending/breaking.

Another option you might look at: find a set of newer OEM take-off springs from like a 2023 truck, then go with your original idea of the Icon AAL on those.

Looks like the center bolt is either broken or was not properly installed.

I'm not seeing anything wrong other than you have the U-bolts off...

The small square on the bottom is the axle shim. Tap it back straight with a hammer if it's crooked (make sure the thinner end points forward). Normally the U-bolts should keep those parts from shifting out of place.
