Here is a great link. http://carbotechperformance.com/brake-fluid.asp

I use to use ATE Super blue. Made it easy for fluid changes. However, it doesn't have as good a boiling point, wet/dry as these others in the link. Primarily now, I use the Motul RBF 660. I have not tried the Brembo, Castrol, or AP Racing.

When you get your BBK, I highly recommend not getting their racing pad. Whichever is their lowest pad, most streetable, go with that. Mine came with the lowest tier racing pads. It didn't take any time for those to cut through the rotors. It is the compound used in them. Becomes extremely abrasive as the compound changes due to heat. Their street pad has lasted a good time now, over two years, and has been on a few track days, still has plenty of pad left, doesn't dust like the race pads, doesn't eat the rotors, and still stops like a sum'bitch!

I haven't had to upgrade my master cylinder. You won't need to either, unless you just want to.

If you get rear disks, then you will likely need an adjustable proportioning valve.

Since there is a rear kit for the 4Runner, and then there is a 4Runner swap kit for the 6 lug Tacoma, then those would fit. I like Proofs.

I agree completely. Those race compound pads chew up rotors very quick. My friend had a VW GTI with a Porsche 911 Brembo big brake kit and Hawk race pads. The rotors were toast in under 12k miles. But man that thing would stop.

Replacement discs were about $400 a piece I believe.

The 355's are about that price as well. Curious how much the 380's will be.
 Let's keep in mind, that those pads will likely be the same. Unless something has changed with their 6 piston calipers.

I also have the link to AP Racing's cross-referenced pads, which can then also be found on CarboTech's website. Available in various compounds. They don't use the compound which eats rotors, even in their race pads.

    380 x 35mm Slotted 2 piece rotors
6 Pistor Forged Aluminum Calipers Red/ White writing
    SS line kit
    H2 Pads
    Mounting Bracket aluminum forged bracket
    Hardware kit

Thats what I believe the long and short of it is. For the off road endeavors, I didn't like the idea of mud and things potentially getting stuck in the holes of a drilled rotor. The possibility of having a rock or something getting stuck in a hole then causing all sorts of damage to the pads was not appealing to me. \

I can only imagine the sand and gravel from the beaches, streams, backroads, and other places I travel. Makes me shake my head at it.
