Adjusting the rear brakes is done by the truck itself in reverse and stepping on the brake. Anything tighter is an incorrect adjustment.

People out there laying on their backs spinning the brake star wheel makes me lmao! And the people that claim I'm incorrect makes me lmfao!

Most rear brakes on passenger vehicles are responsible for approximately 30% of the stopping power but it varies by vehicle/brake design.

I must have missed someone calling you a liar. Sounds like the beginning of a great Friday thread though...

Then you're calipers are sticking, it's not like it's a complicated system.

1st you posted they don't warp then you posted a link saying they do warp. I'm confused by these posts.

Brake rotors definitely warp and anyone who has resurfaced rotors or seen it done will attest that they do in fact warp.

Negative. Read the article. It confirms pad transfer or heavy footed braking as the culprit.

Rotors don’t “warp” in the way that people think they do. It’s a myth.

Having your rotors wear unevenly and create an uneven surface is absolutely possible. So yes, if you go to resurface rotors and measure them with a set of calipers they absolutely can be uneven.

I stand behind my first post.

I enjoy learning, if I’m wrong please provide some information to show that. I’d hate to continue providing wrong information. In this case, I don’t believe I am wrong.

I believe the front rotors warp because of inaccurate rear brake adjustment. Rear brake being too loose could cause the front brakes to work more as there is not a proportionate braking bias. I burnt out a few rotors in a meter of a few months until I adjusted the rear. Either through the ebrake method (which never worked for me due to gummed up star adjusters) or manual adjustment.

So your saying you already know how I drive without ever seeing me drive my truck. Wow how observant of you. I don't race my truck. I bought it to haul my car when needed. I drive 30 miles a day in LA traffic. So you can stop judging my truck driving just because I also own a modified wrx.

Now with that said can you be useful about my problem with a fair split of city and hwy driving?

What article I have yet read anything but people pointing the finger at my driving style, which has been inaccurate.

Start and stop traffic can take a toll on brakes, they get hot the pad material burns onto the rotor yadda yadda next thing you know your new rotors shake.

ADVICS is one of the OEM brake pad suppliers to Toyota, along with AKEBONO and SUMITOMO, when you eventually pull out the front pads on your truck and the name ADVICS will stamped on the backing plate or AKEBONO depending on what they are sourcing at the time, the 04465-04070 are made by SUMITOMO and are semi metallic, the Toyota 04465-AZ100 pads are ADVICS they are Ceramic, the ADVICS rotors are a Made in USA part that are standard for factory Tacomas, Toyota 04465-az001-TM (discontinued) are AKEBONO ceramic made in USA pads.

I changed my front pads and rotors over to the Powerstop K137 kit at around 75,000 miles. Coming up on 97,000 miles now and a couple of hard braking events and I haven't experienced any pulsation like I did with the OEM brakes. Great price point too!

If the rotor isn't perfectly true it warped. If the rotor has high spots it warped. If the metal changed shape in any form it warped. Ya all have a ball...

I think I'm leaning towards getting the f___ out of this thread hahahaha!
