Installed new Meso Customs Puddle pods today. Huge undertaking for an old disabled rookie but followed Meso instructions and a video on You tube. Took me forever and in the end I have some issues that I thought I would run by the experienced here before contacting a very busy Meso support.
1- my passengers side pod does not work at all and drivers side works to perfection. I have completed the following trouble shoot on this issue. Unplugged the drivers pod and connected it to passengers side and it lights. ( my thought wiring is good and correct on passengers side run)Took non working passengers side pod and hooked it up to drivers side wiring and it still does not work. (my thought is pod or pod connector is bad since it does not work on either side and other pod works on both). So, I made a small jumper and slid it into the female side of connector and touched it to male sides of the other side of connector and pod would light for the small amount of time i could keep the connection. ( So I believe the LED pod is ok but the pod side of connector is not) I checked the wires entering both side of connectors and they seem tight and pins seem to be entering correctly as far as I can see but the problem pod connector does not seem to go on near as smooth as the other lighting pod. My final on this is I have a bad connector on the pod side of non lighting pod. The good one lights on either of the wiring connectors and the bad one lights on neither but will light with small jumper.
Do the experienced on here agree?? And/or have any advice on something else to try??

    2. switch is working as intended but does not illuminate. I was reading a lot of pages but do not know which of the procedures is correct for my set up. Pages mention 1st, 2nd, series of pods and switches and do not know which applies to the pods and switch I just got from Meso.
Also it says(in post on subject) to run a wire to an illumination circuit. What and where is the best place to do that??

3- I wanted to put my switch on left switch panel next to my auto headlight switch. There is a blank there but realized that it is larger switch hole and does not fit the switch supplied by Meso. Is there an adapter I can purchase or a panel that can replace the current one that would have all the stock switches but additional blank be a small one??
I have small blanks in lower center but would like to keep the 2 of them for heated seats install. Would like to keep all lighting on left side if at all possible. Any assist here would be great.
Let me thank all that respond in advance for your time, effort, and experience. I will contact Meso Support if I need to but know he is busy and also do not want to say one of his pod connectors is bad if it is something my rookie ass is doing incorrect. Thanks again!

I had the same issue with my passenger pod light as well. You mentioned that the vled connector at the pod was hard to go I had the same symtom. The male pins were not lined up correctly molded wrong from the factory you will need to bend the pins slightly so that they will enter the female pins. If you look into your female side of the connector I'm sure you might see a indent in the plastic to the side of the female pins that was from the male pins stabbing into the plastic cuz it's not lined up with it which is why it was hard to go on since you were stabbing it through plastic. Another member had the same issue as well so check that first.

I can't help you with the switch since I don't have mine yet still waiting for it to arrive

The male connect pins may look off like this( -_ ) instead of the correct orientation like this (- -)

I have checked and rechecked the pins over and over again. Looks like they are lined up correctly but rubber of female is a bit beat up. Just can not be positive once putting them together. However the male slides all the way on and when I pull it back off pins are still as straight as when inserted. Would believe one or both of the pins would be bent if they did not line up and slide all the way together.
Thank you so much for the time, effort, and response attempt at one of my issues.

Thanks for the link. Spent a long time looking at that but confused on what version I have but I will re- read from stem to stern on some sleep and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for referring me to correct place.

This is the new revised T-harness , note the color wires coming off the main t-harness (red , yellow , green , black) . If yours is like this , it is already set up for illumination.

On my T-harness those 4 color wires above were all black. That’s why I had to modify the puddle switch for illumination.

    Hope this helps

Sorry old man does not have the quote thing down yet!!
Yes that is like mine pictured. Will PM you later to beg for some assistance in finding the best place to find a illumination circuit to tap into. Thanks in advance for your help.
Got to get a few hours rest before diving back in to this.

If yours has the the 4 colors like pictured above , it is already set up for illumination. So all you have to do is plug everything together and it will work.

You only need to modify it if you have ONLY have the 4 BLACK wired on that little plug

Just don't tap illumination circuit yet. Get the pods up and running, then spend your nights really diving deep into that thread and wrap your mind around it, then redo the switch and add illumination. I have one of the first kits, so no illumination, I'm not worried about it, I'm not gonna change it.

Thanks to Frsh2df for taking care of the illumination issue. He went over every wire from stem to stern with me and all done correctly. Problem solved that never existed. Another moment of clarity ( I see a pattern of me being a dumb ass forming) Turn the lights on and the switch will light. Lmao
How can a person be smart enough to wire everything dead on balls perfect, troubleshoot a bad pod down to an individual connector, and still be dumb enough to not turn the freekin lights on. Good thing I am retired, I probably could not keep a job anymore being this stupid.
Hope it at least makes for a good laugh today and please show no mercy because no one is laughing more at me.... than me.
Thanks again to all that responded on illumination issue esp frsh2df

No problem man, glad I could help out. You did everything right, just was overthinking the issue. We have all done it, don’t be so hard on yourself.

In the end you got it working , that’s all that counts

I have an issue that I can’t solve!
Finally installed the puddle pods. Lights work fine; however, I have 4 new issues!

    1. Driver side window switch will not roll up or down automatically.
    2. Driver side switch panel cannot control passenger window. However, passenger window works fine from passenger window switch.
    3. Driver side mirror signal does not turn on
    4. Error message, “Check Blind Spot Monitor System”

I’ve already double checked the wiring for any loose plugs, replaced the MESO harness with the original (to check if MESO equipment was faulty), tried to “retrain” the window to learn the automatic mode by opening and closing the window, while holding the switch for a few seconds. Nothing has worked so far!!

    Please help!

I had this happen to me as well. Kinda freaked out honestly.
Retraced all my steps and found a wire loose under the drivers side kick panel. Plugged it in tightly and everything works like a champ now

    J berry,
Yes! I resolved my issue. My frustration caused me to overthink. It turns out, my cable was loose (cable #2 from the photo-I guess I missed this one in my overcheck). This solved all my problems, and hopefully anyone else who makes the same mistake in the future.

Does anyone of a link or instruction on how to add the illumination feature to the older version of puddles?
