Is anyone rocking the Roofnest Falcon on top of their Camper shell? I currently have Prinsu roof racks on the cab and camper shell. Has anyone had issues with flexing since the tent extends over the cab? anyone have pics?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Thanks man. I have seen where Prinsu makes a 1 inch riser for tents where as roofnest brackets look flush as possible.

i just bought the 1/2 inch brackets they sell because i want to put some space but still want it to be as low profile as possible.

Have you installed the 1/2 inch spacers yet?

I've been thinking about selling my Tepui Kukenam 3 and getting the roofnest falcon. I want something that sets up and takes down quicker, plus something I can keep on the truck and still be able to park in my garage. I also have the Prinsu roof rack and cab rack and was wondering about the flex

I just got this set up this weekend. Falcon XL on an Alucab. I ordered the low profile shell bars (1") so it was tough to get it hooked up since you can't actually reach under there to do much, but it all worked out. There is about 3/4"-1" of space between the bottom of the Falcon and the shark fin. I know there will be some flex difference between the bed and the cab, but I figure with the sharkfin being exactly in the middle, there should be minimal height change at that spot.

I don't have roof racks, so I can't help you with that.

Anyway, here are some pics like you asked for:

Hey no not yet I was going to install them this past weekend but was blindsided by rats getting into my engine and chewing up 6 of my wiring harnesses when I get it back hopefully by the end of this week I will do it and post pics.

Dam that sucks. Rodents can be a pain in the ass. My friends Dad had the wires chewed up twice in his vehicles. The last time his insurance company told him they wouldn't cover it if it happened again. He now has a Tacoma and put a sound deterrent in it that beeps a few times a minute. I'm not sure if it was rats or squirrels chewing up the wires.

    None...yet
Yesterday I was mounting the Roofnest Falcon XL to my wife's Cruiser.

The mounting hardware included, attached to Rhino Racks (Vortex style) seems really sketchy; as if Roofnest just included mounting hardware as an afterthought, not a point of design.

Can those who have had their Roofnest on for an extended period, especially if on RR Vortex bars, how's it hanging, so to speak?

Also, has anyone shortened the mounting bolts? The current length seems like overkill to me and tightening the bolts (for me) was the most time-consuming part of the entire process of mounting the tent. This would not be a big deal, but I am trying to keep the whole process of mounting/dismounting to under an hour as we will not be daily driving with the RTT.

I shortened the bolts on my tepui rtt. Just make sure you use lock nuts.

Don’t suppose you have a couple picks from the front and back. Wanted to see what the overhang looks like.

Here are a couple. It hangs out a bit, but doesn't bother me. I often go camping with two kids so I really wanted the extra room. Or when my wife and I go there's plenty of room for two adults. The XL roofnest is the same width as the bed of a tacoma, so it's not like it's overly wide. It just sticks out a bit because the top of the truck is narrower than the base of the bed.PXL_20211006_012100890.jpg PXL_20211006_012119427.MP.jpg
