Roof top tent over tonneau cover

Just throwing this out there to see if anyones done it yet but i have a hard top flip up tonneau cover and i want to run a rack so i can put a RTT on. Is it possible to do with this tonneau or do i need to change this one out?

Do you know if your factory accessory rails have been relocated?

 

A Friend of mine and her husband put a RTT on a trailer and they loved the result. They just completed a 3600km trip with it with their dog and no regrets. Made for easy transport and if they wanted to zip away in the truck they could without breaking everything down because the tent isnt attached to the truck.

 

I am honestly not to sure if the factory rails have been relocated.

Here is my outfit. I wanted the RRT to not be above the cab for clearance into garages and such. So i have a Retrax roll-up tonneau and the tent is no more than 6in above the cover. Your backflip is cheaper but didnt work for me due to the height necessary.

 

Check out Leitner Designs , you'll need the tonneau and the ACS rack. Not cheap, but I have the ACS forged and have nothing but good things to say about fit/finish/quality. Cannot speak to the quality of their tonneau - I'm running a decked setup.

It depends what you mean compatible. If you are looking to be able to fully open your bakflip with a bed rack then I don't think that exists at this time. There are a few options in which you'd be able to partially open the first panel but you wouldnt be able to flip it all the way open. If you switch to something like the Revolver X4/X4s there are some racks that will allow you to fully open the tonneau.

 

Hey just curious if with your leitner and pods if you got any rear squat ?

 

Not a BakFlip (a buddy has one with similar results)...

@KB Voodoo is the cleanest option out there, IMO

 

all you have to dois get a cover that fits on inside of bed rails. U didnt have to do anything special lol. Rolls all the way back. My rack isnt sitting on little brackets either

I've got the Bakflip mx4 for my 2019 long bed and went with BillieBars. Super happy with them and have no complaints at all. Holds my rooftop tent securely and keeps it below the roof of my cab.

 

Hendog this is exactly what im looking for something simple.I have the same tonneau cover and i also have a long bed. Was hoping to also have the RTT sit below the cab of the truck. Where did you get the billie bars?

Serious question since I am in the market to buy.. How are the KBVoodoo better than the BillieBars? Spec wise it seems the Billiebars are twice as beefy.
