Looking for just some input on roof tent setup people are running on their leer caps. I just ordered my CAP and looking to run an Ikamper 2 ontop of a prinsu cap rack. Any reviews or suggestions. Anyone ran into major issues with the fiberglass 100XR cap.

You'll likely be over the dynamic load limit of the shell.

I have a Leer 100XR and went with the x-cover and a Thule rack. The x-cover is only 120lbs and the rack is well under 30lbs (IIRC, the iKamper skycamp2 is 165lbs and the shell is only rated to 150lbs so you'll be well over once you factor in the weight of the rack).

I've been running this setup for 4 years now and it has held up nicely, even with a decent amount of off-roading.

before you get one, take a moment to consider how you'll really use it. Lost count of how many RTT i've seen up for sale with "used once" or "used 3-4 times, going different direction" sale ads

I bought a cheapie 100xq that the previous owner had mounted a rtt on, it was cracked above the rear window glass pretty badly. The rubber seal wouldn't stay on, it leaked water. The bottom edges above the taillights would spread the bed-sides apart. I could tell because the gap between the tailgate and taillights would open up when the canopy weight was on it (even with bed stiffeners). I talked myself into it because it was so cheap and I had plans to repair the fiberglass.. but that never happened and I ended up selling it after a few months.

Granted I don't know how the previous owner treated it. He may have abused it or offroaded too hard.

Bed stiffeners are highly recommended with the weight you're talking about

I originally had my rtt on a Leer 100xr and diy prinsu style rack for about a year. I chose to ditch the cap and install the tent on a bed rack. I didn't have any cracking when I sold it but was worried about the extra weight flopping around up there.
