Hey guys and gals, I am in need of help choosing a light. I plan on purchasing the uptop overland roof rack and I am wanting to buy Rigid lights that mount to the side. I am looking for a light that will brighten up the side enough for a campsite per say. Although I'll most likely be using them for driving in the woods, kind of as an aoe light so I can see.
I am looking at the Rigid rock lights and was wondering if they are bright enough to do so, if not what would you recommend?

Look for a beam pattern titled "FLOOD".

That's an interesting comparison. I see the Rigid rock lights come in second yet I'm interested in how they would be on a roof rack. I'm wondering if the brightness of the light will be strong enough to reach the ground and be clear

I wouldn't recommend a Rock Light. Your looking for a "Flood Light". Look at KC, PIAA, ect.

second what others are saying. dont think a rock light will be bright enough.
the major brands have what you need.
a Baja Designs S2 light would work well (thats what i use) or the new S1
i think KC and Rigid have some that will also work great.

Depending on the level of light you are desiring, for just some light ambient camp light they may be ok, you'd probably want to tilt them to toward the ground a bit. They are not going to be bright enough for any "driving in the woods" though. I'd suggest looking at Baja's new S1. https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/S1-Wide-Cornering-LEDs.asp

I appreciate that. I'm going to be sticking with Rigid so all my lights are the same brand. Although I do like Baja design.. I'm looking at the Rigid rock lights (2 on each side) and then a Rigid Ignite in the middle. I'm not sure if I should get the Diffused or the Flood. What would you guys recommend in terms of brightness with the rock lights? Diffused or Flood?

If you are dead set on rigid, get 4 of their ignite lights and put them on the corners of the rack. Get the widest beam you can get and angle them so they light the side and a little in front and behind you. Me personally I just have two Baja designs S2 pros on my roof rack and it’s insane how bright they are. Definitely worth looking into. I also have two in the rear bumper so that’s why it’s lit up behind me
