How do you like the universal wire holder? It wasn't in stock when I did mine so I just jammed mine into the channel next to the windshield. If i add any more accessories I think this might be a better option.

Any pics of where you mounted the 8 gang switch panel?

Hmmm, this might be a nice option for me with my OEM rack. There is enough space in the front and rear of the OEM rack to mount some of these lights.

I've been following your setup in the uptop thread; I ordered these lights recently, and thinking of ordering a second set. How easy/difficult is it to add on additional lights? Thinking of adding a second set to my camper shell rack. That being said, do you think 2 of these facing rearward off a camper shell rack would be bright enough to light up a trailer or boat? Thinking these could be a cool addition for trailering the boat in the dark if so. Or strapping down hunting gear/4wheeler to the trailer in the dark.

I really like the universal wire holder, so far its holding up well to washes. I didn't want to drill into metal so I went with this option. It's clean.

I'll upload night shots as soon as I can. It's pretty bright at night, bright enough for my needs at least.

@Mr. Excitement I couldn't tell from your pics in the Uptop thread, and maybe this is a dumb question, but can you tell me what the use for the "base plate" is for? It doesn't look like your pics show the use of it, but it comes included here:
    https://delatorre-designs.square.site/product/uptop-light-pod-set/7?cs=true&cst=custom

Edit: I haven't punched out the knockout holes in my rack, but I assume you sandwich the hole of the rack between these two pieces? I thought at first it fully enclosed the light, minus the lens, but they very obviously don't fit inside of each other lol

It’s the backing plate for the light and goes in the inside of the rack. So the rack is sandwiched between the light and backing plate. If that makes sense.

Typically, for scene lighting while camping. Could be used for puddle lighting purposes too I suppose. Maybe also for extra hazard/emergency lighting. For me, camp lighting basically. They'll come in extremely handy when organizing gear, putting on hunting boots, etc when hunting for me; not having to rely on headlamps at the truck.

I use mine to impress other people with tacomas. Or to flash green and red during christmas. Does provide light when you approach your truck. Kinda like those puddle pods.

Works great at a fraction of the cost. (compared to switch pro)

Well, wired these lights up to my rack over the weekend, and no Bueno. I don't know if the Bluetooth controller is faulty, or if the App just sucks altogether, but the lights aren't displaying when searching for Bluetooth devices within the app. I can pick up about 20-25 unknown/other Bluetooth devices nearby, but don't see the lights listed. Unfortunately, since I can't use the app to turn them on, I can't even wire in a toggle switch (which is the ultimate plan anyways). I'm 100% positive they're wired correctly; its a red and black wire, can't mess that up. Inline fuse is good, so all things point back to the Bluetooth controller/module. Not worried about money wasted, Amazon will definitely refund, but kinda mad at myself for not checking them before final wiring :frusty:

Hmm, works fine for me. I'm using a iphone 13 pro max btw. Did you wire this to a switch?

Not yet, but wouldn't matter if I did bc I can't turn them on :anonymous:
I'm using an iPhone 12 pro max, so I can't imagine I'd be in the crowd that doesn't exactly have app support. I have a second set I plan to throw on the camper shell rack. I'm going to test them separately, then swap in place of the other module to verify the installed lights work, and go the route of refund/replacement from Amazon if need be. It happens though; I'm not in any way bashing the product, just making conversation for the sake of hoping someone sees it and knows a simple solution lol.

Got a replacement module in from Amazon yesterday; tested the new and all was well! Now to just do some rewiring over the weekend to clean it all up.
