I have been considering a purchase of a Prinsu roof rack for my truck. I was looking at a rack from Prinsu without any cutouts for lights or light bar. We really don't see many photos of racks without lights. I am worried it will be ugly without lights! Any thoughts on this? 1st 3 photos of oem rack. 4th photo of Prinsu with round lights. 5th with light bar.

Personally, I think the noise from the OEM and others I have seen would just be too much for me. Hoping they come out with an OEM stow-away rack like they have on the gen 3s. Loved that rack on my previous Tacos.

I've bookmarked Yakima parts where the tower options can take their newer or old school round bars. I happen to have the latter in different sizes. Here or a different 4G forum someone posted another firm with brackets that use the holes in the roof. Noise, simplicity and fuel economy have me most interested in that strategy over the large metal assembly types.

I had these on my '08 and '12 Taco and they are excellent for my uses. Carried plenty of stuff on them but when not in use they fold back so no wind drag, noise, etc. I wanted to try and fit them to the '24 but they won't fit. Hoping Toyota or someone else makes this design for the gen 4...

We offer a roof rack with cutouts and a lot of Tacoma owners that run our roof racks don't always get the lights to go with it, the racks always end up looking great with or without the lights!

It is one of those things that you can always swing back around to later down the road, if you decide that is the way you want to go!

I am concerned with the look of those big bulky roof racks and the wind noise. Any tests been done on your rack for wind noise?

That looks much more minimalistic and therefore alot less wind noise.

We actually designed our roof rack with wind noise in mind, we wanted to really reduce and or eliminate the wind noise that is so common with roof racks.

Unlike many other roof racks on the market we designed ours with the adjustable wind deflector, with this, if you choose to run a light bar, would be extremely helpful in eliminating that whistle and wind noise in general caused by lightbars. Regardless if you run a light bar the adjustable wind fearing is extremely helpful with the wind noise and aerodynamics.

Another big key difference with our roof racks is that we designed these with fitment also in mind, again, unlike many other roof racks on the market, ours truly fit and hug the shape of the vehicle, so rather than having huge gaps where the roof rack sits on the vehicle is going to have nice and snug fit on the vehicle with very minimal gaps that would also contribute to excessive wind noise and poor aerodynamics.

We have been running the roof rack on our 2024 Tacoma and it has been great as far as producing very minimal wind noise, the only time we do have any noticeable noise is when we are mounting large boxes to the top, which is one of those things that is unavoidable when it comes to noise.

We are also running our 15% off sale right now which does include the roof racks!

Just let me know if you have any questions.

Best of the best when it comes to a roof rack would be Wescott....
May be pricier, but attention to detail, fit & finish, etc, is priceless...
Their roof rack ide say is tightest to the roof-line compare to any other manf'r...

I take it, you werent familiar with the brand?
You truly cant go wrong with their stuff.
Digging further, doesnt seem to be much more than the other options out there.
They truly pay attention to detail.
Im not a huge fan off roof racks to begin with so it needs to look extra cool & they do that....
They truly perfect their craft & not just trying to mass produce a ok product.

I agree. When I look at the oem toyota rack photos that I posted, it looked ugly and I was against any racks that take away from the truck, however, that wescott design is sexy. Let's see if they do a black Friday promotion! We'll i called wescott right now. Black Friday sale is coming up, but that color matched powder coated plate is not an option you can order. He said they did it for a local customer but will not be available for online orders. When I asked why he said it is not an easy task for them to get that custom color for a small piece. I just didn't want to argue with with because they could run a batch with each color of the truck and when the customer says I want white or blue, they add the plate. He recommended, that each person who orders the rack can drill out the rivets send it out to get it powder coat it and re-install the plate back on. I think that process will turn off many customers who liked the color matched plate like me.

I can tell you after having that rack on 2 trucks for a total of 7 years that there is absolutely no noticeable noise when the cross bars are stowed. Any roof rack will have noise with the cross bars in place but the OEM version was very minimal compared to even the BMW crossbars I've had before.

Since money is an issue, I like to make the right decision before I buy a rack to make sure it looks good with no wind noise and is actually functional.

Just noticed a ridiculous shipping cost flat rate of $200 that Westscott Designs added to the roof racks. I guess they just think that people will pay any price for their products. I was in the process of placing an order and i stopped. Consumer gouging is not an acceptable practice.
