Anyone run the roof racks that use clamps inside the door sil?

did anyOne have paint damage or corrosion from grim getting trapped inside?

Any water leakage issues due to the clamps going under the rubber door seal?

I installed these with some vinyl padding underneath to protect my paint....

anyone with experience with these style please post

    thanks

There's a thread somewhere, dude had leakage. Apparently those are supposed to be used only temporarily, not left on the vehicle. At least that's what I gathered.

I have had these before. No issues. The doors rubber seal creates a barrier as it forms around the plastic. I did have a grime silouhette when I took it off. But used some goo gone and paint looked good as new.

I have the Yakima version on my truck. No problems to note. Generally it is on all summer and off in the winter.

I ran them on a older car a few years back. Never had any water leaks, but the car had gutters on the roof so no water drained down anyways. But they did eventually wear down the clear coat a bit and left square marks where the clamp pads were.
