Hello everyone. I have a 2017 Tacoma SR. I don't know when or how it happened, but I noticed that the roof drip moulding on the passenger side is missing.

It's no longer under warranty unfortunately. Is this something that I can do myself or should I have the dealer do it. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined, but not a mechanic by any stretch.

I know that I need the actual moulding and clips. How are the clips attached?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

It's in the carwash you just used, call em and see if they kept it. The carwash blowers and side wind rips them right off. Yet another reason not to use those things.
I'm not sure Toyota even tape them, I think they may just be pressed in.
I peeled mine back and added more double sided tape, double thick so it actually fills the gap and sticks.

Been a while since I installed my cab rack, but I feel like mine was just taped in.

They are incredibly easy to replace. They have a clip in the front, a couple small strips of tape from the factory (at least my double cab did), and it slides under the weather strip in the back. I just installed a roof rack on mine Tacoma and it was very easy to remove and reinstall them.

If you can't find it at the car wash look up the part number online, order it from eBay (usually cheaper and quicker than going through a dealer), go to Home Depot buy some good 3m double sided tape, clean the roof area it goes in with rubbing alcohol, put 3 or 4 strips of tape (one in the front, in the middle, and one at the back), start installing it in the front, and press it down working your way back.

Mine came off in the carwash a few weeks ago. Stayed attached at the back though. Just pushed right back in place.

This happened to me and luckily the back stayed in place so it didn’t fly away. I’m constantly pressing down on it whenever I can just to make sure it’s in as much as possible. Super easy to install once you get the part.

Thanks for the tips/advice everyone. I checked the car wash I frequent with no luck. I will just order it an install it.

One additional question, is it prudent to add extra double sided tape in addition to the factory adhesive?

    Thanks again!
