Am I just not calling it the right thing? I know they're not really designed to handle a roll, but does anyone (Mobtown, C4, etc?) make a simple in-bed bar?

    Like this??

Should I be looking for 2nd gen products instead? I'd like to get something like that to eventually mount some lights onto but I just can't find anything that looks good.

Maybe I'm just having a brain fart and not coming up with the right word for it...

Those are called headache racks. You can try searching for that.

No it's not. A headache rack keeps stuff from coming through the back glass. This is a headache rack.

Ooof, that pinstriping is a bit much.

OK so it looks like the N-fab won't fit with the 3G perfectly, but does fit with a little creativity. I already have added the 2G header rail but I believe I do have the tonneau front rail which causes a clearance issue. Not sure what it would look like if I just pulled it off, I'll have to do that before I make any decisions.

The tonneau rail limited me from test fitting it better. I have seen my bar on 3G trucks without issue.

You don't have a location, if you're local to me and want to set it in place if you want to buy it, I'd be more than happy to show it to you.

So close, and yet so far. I'm in southeastern PA, which is like... 4-5 hours or more. Plus I'm not really interested in the lights. Basically, I would be a pain in your ass.:p

Good to know that N-fab does make them though, I was starting to think I might have to go custom.

Toyota is lagging on some OEM bed bar accessories. There is no reason they cant have something like this. They make stuff for the Helix internationally.

I call them chase racks since they are where you mount chase lights for something like Baja. They don't provide the same support a headache rack does. A google search for chase rack tacoma yields quite a few results.

I just passed a guy this morning in PA with a newer black truck with one on it. Looked decent and had a light bar on top. 202 by Glen Eagle if you're on here.

They're not really in style any more.... But occasionally I get a request for them.
