    Hello,

I've searched the forum and found some information on this, but not much.

It appears that aftermarket rocker panels and cab corner cutouts are not available for 05 (second gen) Tacoma's.

Mine are rusted (appears from inside out) and the cab corner has a hole.

What are folks doing to fix this?
Can autobody shop craft something that will work?
If you've had this done, what did it cost you? (obviously variable)

Truck is otherwise in good shape.

    2005 Tacoma Access Cab 160k miles 4cyl, 5 spd.

Yeow!! That's gonna be expensive to fix since there are multiple layers to a rocker. That's not a DIY type job.

I'm going to see if a body shop can fix it.
It has a brand new frame.

The thing I marvel at is that nobody makes any aftermarket rockers or cab corners for the Tacoma.
We see rust like this on everything up here in the northeast, but you can get the parts on other vehicles.

Still curious if anybody has any experience with such repairs.

Yes, Toyota sells it as a whole rear outer pillar, but not the corner panel cut offs...….corner panel cut offs go for $50 to $100 for most trucks.....
Strange because every Toyota around here is rusted out.....you would think some after market company would make them..
At this point, will be easier and cheaper for the body shop put something together...

Not a super difficult repair, if that’s the type of rot y’all have to deal with on fairly young vehicles, your area probably has a lot of shops capable of fabricating those patches.

13 year old truck... replaced frame... break out the fiberglass my friend. I am originally from the NE and we had multiple family vehicles rust through body panels when I was growing up. Pops fiberglassed them and that worked just fine until they died from something else.

I'm not sure on what planet 13 years is "fairly young" for a car.

There are tens of millions of cars on the road older than 20 years.

    13 years is not old.

    Sure, in Texas and Nevada....
Everywhere else, there's nothing remaining of vehicles at 20 years besides a bucket full of rust.

Or in Cuba, 'cause no choice.
