I took a bag and filled it with snacks. It worked ok, but I soon got tired of my snacks and bought better looking replacements at various gas stations on my trip.

    4 run, 2 don't
Itinerary left to loved ones; when you should expect to get to point A, point B, etc.

Plan on a routine follow up, whether it be a text or a call, that way others know you're safe.

Plan on emergency break downs; what will you do, who will you call, do you have the extra funds to cover a tow and night in a hotel, etc.

This isn't 3rd gen related, or even Tacoma related, but something that anyone could follow when going on a long trip

PS Done many across the US trips in my time

i actually did setup my truck for the highway mainly. this is some of that:
    - high caster alignment (UCAs etc)
    - E range tires, because i love how they ride on the highway
    - rear sway bar ( Hellwig )
    - Hammer Hangers
    - custom bucketed driver's seat
    - dark tint
    - big bass stereo
    - leather wrapped steering wheel
    - a tonneau to reduce getting blown around as much in high wind
    - and then all the driving stuff like OVT, ADM, Core shifter, etc.
    - list can keep going I'm sure, lots of little things

i live to drive and the highway is my zone.

Quite true. Snacks and plenty of water.

One of my cross country blitz’s between Billings MT and Sheridan WY in my previous STi I hit something in the road that punctured the rear driver tire. Air compressor, plug kit, torque ms and I was back on the road after 15 minutes. Could have waited for roadside but at 7PM on the side of I-90. No thank you.

Do cars randomly blow fuses these days? I know I carry extras, but in 20 yrs and 500,000 total miles of driving, I’ve never had a fuse blow. I also don’t think I know of it happening to anyone I know.

Honestly, just enjoy It. Pack battery packs to charge the phone so you can can take lots of pics. Other than that make sure you have advil and eye drops for long drives. And a good play list

Sometimes 12v power outlets blow fuses due to operator error.

I think that’s about it these days tho

Thanks all. Forgot to add my Arb compressor. I will update main list..

Regardinf where, its a few differing states. Next year is CO, following year might be WY. Hunting elk, mule deer, antelope etc,

tires are C rated cooler at3.

ive thought about a cap/shell but havent come across a deal. It would make the coolers s lot harder to deal with once loaded but offers a lot of security.

    Wisconsin reporting in!

OP, vehicle-specific stuff aside, I'd suggest packing climate appropriate gear in a small bag/tote/tub. During the winter, especially in the midwest/east, this includes items like a spare jacket, boots, socks, hat, gloves, wiper fluid, traction chains (for boots), shovel, etc.

Snacks any time of year are a must, just try to be healthier with them and watch the sodium/sugar intake.

Im more worried about the actual mods more than gear.

i will be bringing coolers, gps, shovel, likely get traction boards, hi-lift, first aide kit etc
