I am working on deciding the suspension system for my 23 SR double cab short bed. I am looking at getting the 2” Dobinsins lift with new front coils and rear leafs.
My question pertains to the shock options.

I like the way the truck rides on the road with the factory suspension - I just wish it handled weight in the bed better.

With everything else staying the same for the new coils and leafs, how would the Dobinson twin tube shocks ride on the highway compared to the Dobinson monotube shocks?

99% of my miles are on the road (about 24,000 miles per year). The factory suspension is more than capable for my off-roading. I am going with a lift for aesthetics to clear larger tires. Most of my off-roading is limited to the beaches on Assateague and OBX.

I appreciate everyone’s experience and feedback.

Welcome to TacomaWorld. Chances are it will ride better because the stock suspension is nothing special at all. Dobinsons makes good products, should be an improvement.

Lift isn't needed for tires. Proper wheel fitment is.

Air bags might solve your load problems for a lot less $. Or even a Road Active setup. Folks here who use that seem to like it.
