Hey guys looking for any one with personal experience with having the road force balance done? A little bit about what I am dealing with. A year ago I got some new after market wheels with new tires. Here's what I got . 265/70r16 Hankook Dynapro ATm. with American outlaw wheels 16x8 . Both brand new. The wheels are hub and lug centric. I made sure of it. From day one I has a very slightly vibration at 53 and at 68-70. Just recently it started to get slightly worse so I decided to get them balanced and rotated. Well it was way worse so I went back that same day and they rebalanced them and it is a little better but at 63 to 70 the steering wheel shimmy's and you can feel it in the rest of the truck. After the second time I took the guy how did the balance with me and he felt it to. He told me to have them Road Force Balanced. But they didn't have that machine at that location. I never had this problem until I did the wheel switch. It is on my 2011 with only 237xx miles. I have red up on this type of balancing but dos it really work? Any and all personal experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance !!

Had Road Force balance done to my Revo 2's worked very well. My tires were brand new and had a vibration from the get go, after Road Force was done no problem at all.

Just make sure a competent shop does it. I had a moron do mine. Gouged my wheel using an impact on my lug locks and the next day a strip of weights fell off one of my wheels. He was also too lazy to remove/rotate any of the tires.

Also challenge the shop to make sure their balancing macine is using the hub centric adapter

Road force is good, it can also measure just the wheel to see if they are out of balance.

I had the same tires for 7 months, and had 4 rebalances and 2 road force balances, 2 replacement tires plus the original set of 4 and they never got fixed. I had constant vibes with them.

Swapped for Cooper ATP and instantly went away.

I'll never own them again. Good luck! It is rare for a wheel to be out of balance, and with your symptoms I wouldn't think they are either. I bet it's your tires!

Every local shop here (besides the shop I bought them from) suggested immediately it was a tire fault and that Hankook truck tires are low grade, turned out to be true.

The shop I had road force balance my previous tires said they could only test them up to 60 mph. Make sure they let you know what speed they are testing it to cause it may not show up at lower speeds!

Stealership should have the hunter 9000 road force machine, well the one I work at does. Anyways hope it's not the wheels that are out of balance. I bought 4 of the rock crawl from wheelers and 3 of 4 was out of balance like 52 lbs off.

Also keep an eye out for heavy weights, if they are stacking one side to counter balance something big. Ask them if they tried to rotate the wheel in relation to the rim. I once had one 3rd of my rim stacked with weights, they told me it was normal... So I googled it and learned about that technique. Took it back and insisted they try that, they used half as many weights once rotated and it felt smoother on the road.

I had 2,500 miles on my 2014 when I went to 265/70/17 Goodyear Wranglers Adventures on the stock wheels. 3,000 miles later had them rotated at Dealership during an oil change.Vibration at the speed OP mention. Took it back twice to the shop that put them on. Second time talked to the co-owner (lady of owner) she had them rebalance the front ones. So far so good.
Had a really bad experience with the Goodyear Silent Armors tires on my Jeep. Great, super quiet until I rotated them. After rotation never could get them feeling as smooth. Starting to wonder about tires with Kevlar in them.

Yeah I hope they can get it fixed . It is really annoying especially since I didn't have it with my stock trd off road wheels. I even had Michelin put on and smooth as glass even at 90 mph. I am wishing I would of left it stock. Thanks guys for all your replys. All great info. Very much appreciated! I will keep you posted. I am in the process of finding a big o tire near me with that balance machine. Thay are the ones that I got the tires through so the balance is covered under warranty.

This is my first post, I'm a factory trained coat equipment tech, I fix tire machines and balancer that the shops brake. Roadforce is a good balance, but the biggest this is to get a good mount on whatever machine is being used. Toyota 6 lug has a huge center hole making it hard to get a good mount. See if you can find a shop that has the cone kit for toyota. If you see a huge stack of weight ask is they will match mount your tire and wheel assy. Also find out when the last time their balancer was calibrated.

Hankooks are pretty popular around here and I never heard anyone having problems with them.

You need a tire shop that has a Haweka adapter. Without it, the balance job is a crapshoot.

Would he still need the Haweka adapter even though he is now using aftermarket rims?
