I’m just wondering if anyone has a review or output pictures of a rigid sr sae 20” or 30” light bar. Just bought a new commuter Jeep and do a lot of highway driving and am looking for a good driving light.

I have the KC c series 30. It has 16K lumens and really adds a lot of light really far. Have you looked into just a HID conversion kit to convert the halogens? Less than $200, focused downward and extremely effective. I like my HIDs (morimoto elite) more than my light bar. My 2 cents...

Welcome! Compare the specs of Rigids SAE bars with Diode Dynamics SAE bars. If you go above dual single 12" Diode Dynamics bars the output is too intense to be street legal for SAE compliance, but it is an SAE style driving pattern which is what you are after. An SAE driving beam is an aux high beam, so it should only be used when no other vehicles are in-front of you, just like your high beams. Raw lumens means very little, look at measured specs like lux at 10m when comparing driving patterns.
    Rigid SR 20" lux@10m: 342 lux
    DD Stage 18" lux@10m 1,650 lux

Putting HIDs in your halogen reflectors is very poor advice, most people stopped doing this long ago. It changes the beam pattern to not have cut offs and provides very dangerous levels of glare to oncoming drivers. It is also illegal.

That's funny because I've tested the cutoff many times, even standing in front the truck and seeing how low I need to squat to get glare. Even followed a bud in an Audi and asked him about the glare. Can't disagree more.

You are running them in a projector on a 3rd Gen Tacoma, which has internal light shields to control glare. Covered in this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-hid-vs-led-vs-halogen-h11-projector-headlights.589465/

He is running them in a Jeep, should have clarified the specific model but most Jeeps have reflector headlights which is entirely different and doesn’t have the internal light shield to control glare.

Hahaha it’s a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I’ll have to look into the diode dynamics light bar. Didn’t realize they had other sae lights other than the ss3

There is a SAE compliant output limit per light. Rigid gets around this on their 30" SAE bar by adding a separator in the middle of the bar so one bar has "two lights". Diode Dynamics sells the two smaller separate 12" bars, but when you go to a single 18" or higher the legal limit is exceeded for one light, and since they don't have a separator in their light bar, the entire bar is classified as one light. Even though the two Diode Dynamics 12" bars will have a higher combined output that the one 18" driving bar. The highest SAE driving single light output intensity I have found is the KC Pro6.
