Remember the good ole days when people had gun racks in their trucks?
Well I'm wanting to put a rack inside my SR Access in the back but just under the window, for obvious reasons.
If anybody has fabricated one or know where something like this exists to buy please let me know. I'm pretty handy and could built one but would likely go around my backside trying to figure it out and waste time and materials in the process before getting one right.

    Thanks

There were (are) some MOLLE racks available for the rear wall below the window. They could used to mount two or three long guns at a time.

They are all too expensive for me. Also, no need for them to be metal. So I'm waiting for a lower cost plastic (HDPE?) one to come out...
I would like to DIY one, but cutting MOLLE slots/holes without a CNC; that'd be insane.

Back in the day my Dad's '77 Ford F250 had a gun rack in the back window. If you parked anywhere now these days with a shotgun racked like that I'd bet someone would either steal it and use it to commit a crime or call the police on you for being a terrorist or something.

I'd want a case or some kind of cover lower to the floor now.

As I stated above. But long guns will be in the truck only when to and from the woods.

Some people have pulled the plastic trim from under the rear window and possibly added sound deadening and or a molle.

    Lots of room for activities.

I built one for a Ford xcab I had years ago. Across the top rear of the cab. Didn't need the headroom. Just a padded shelf with a lip on the front and some velcro straps. Had a game warden stop and check me one hunting season. Asked if I had any firearms, I said yes in the back. Had to point it out to him as he couldn't see it. Could fit 2 long guns i
    n no problem.

Yea back in the day - seems like every other truck had a Shot-gun or 30-30 hanging in the back window. Haven't seen that look
in years now. Either that or they are down under the window so the general public can't see 'em.

Be safe and smart about it. Get a decked if you’re trying to leave a gun in the truck. Or at least some sort of heavy duty locking rack in the cab. Unfortunately it ain’t the good ol days anymore.

I graduated high school in 1976. Remember the student parking lot had several pickups with deer rifles on gun racks. No one paid any attention. Probably not very smart but I don’t recall anyone stealing. And every male carried a pocket knife or a lock blade on their belt.
Oh and we had a male classmate that dressed as a girl…. No one gave a shit about that either

My Titan has space under the back seat and that's where my AR and IFAK live. Trying to figure it new ways of carrying mostly my rifle as I still have car seats in the back.
