I like the looks of the Rhino Backbone roof bars the best but can't find any info on them. I searched and only found one thread from 2017 where someone asked about them. Yes I know there's other options but I'm only interested in opinions and pictures of this one please. I can get a nice discount on them just wondering what users thought of them.

My brother has the Rhino backbone and pioneer on his 4Runner. I love the way it looks and feels very premium on the 4Runner.
If you like the styling I wouldn't hesitate. Plus, you'll be in the rare breed of Tacos with the RR. Hopefully someone can post a pic up here.

C929D8F7-9944-4FD0-ACE2-05A800D1F42A.jpg Kinda far away but I have it on my truck. One thing I’ll say about it. Couple pieces of uni-strut/super strut (what ever you want to call it). Works perfect for cross members depending on what your needs are. However; with this truck I’m getting terrible radio interference at 80kmph. Gonna save up and get the proper pioneer top for it. Hopefully that’ll make it go away. Other than that it’s a great cheap rack/feet system.

I've thought about trying something like this, can you post some other pics? Do you know what the spacing between your crossbars? I've got a Yakima loadwarrior basket I'd like to use on my cab, this might be a slick way to do it if the spacing works.

I wanted the backbone and then put the rhino basket on it but they aren't compatible. You have to get the pioneer platform then put bars on it then the basket on that. Dumb. So not sure what I want to do now.

ARB makes pretty much exactly what it sounds like what you're looking for...

That's basically the RR pioneer platform with rails. I was wanting a basket style. Figured it would be lighter weight? I can get pro discounts on RR products so not really worried about price. Are those the factory Toyota roof rails?

No those are ARB roof rails. Pro tip on pro discounts though, pros don't talk about them :)

Just installed it myself two weeks ago... have yet to fully utilize it but initial impressions are that it’s super sturdy & high quality. Not as cliche as the other popular racks... think it looks great with my mid-rise shell. Hardest part of install was trimming back the gutter stripping.

Preferred this backbone after watching Prinsu install videos where the whole rack looks to be resting on these thick plastic washers/spacers. Didn’t really like the idea of that vs backbone is steel bolting directly flush to the roof.

Also re: baskets... could be wrong but from my perusing “baskets” are usually made of steel vs new platform style usually Aluminum.... platform might actually be lighter fwiw.

IDK man, the Pioneer platforms are aluminum and the RR baskets are steel. Even with the sides I'd bet the platforms are lighter.

Do you have and radio interference? Also all the googling I’ve done says I can only order a platform with rails on the side for the Tacoma. But yours is completely flat. What size or part number is that?

Looks like part # is 52100F 60”x49” Pioneer Platform... if you go on their website and fit your vehicle it should spit out the package.

No real radio interference unless I’m going under a large overpass.

Weird. I’ve gone to their site before and it said that this one is the only one available. I’m sure those side rails could be removed. Good to know you don’t have radio interference too with the proper top.
