I was wondering if anyone has done a rhino liner paint job on their truck. Saw a Jeep with orange liner and it looked good. Said you can get all sorts of colours. I wanted to get it in Barcelona Red but can't remember the brand, it isn't rhino liner. Just a similar rock hard paint product.

I've used "Custom coat" liner which has different colors. Haven't painted a vehicle with it, but it's holding up great on a jet ski. No issues with dirt or sun as of yet and it handles being wet/dry over and over again. If my paint was shot I'd definitely do my whole truck.

My buddy had his truck's bed done in grey by Linex. He was going to do blue that matched his companies colors, but was nervous about re-sale down the road.

A member on here did a coloured bedliner paint job after some vengeful chick keyed the hell out of his truck. Can't remember what his username was.... it looked pretty decent!

I looked into this obsessively when I bought my truck a couple years ago, still haven't done it though. Here's what I learned:

There's pros and cons to the different products but 90% of it is the quality of the prep and install. There's good Line-X or Rhino Liner places and there's bad ones. A bad spray job will start peeling after a couple months/years while a good one will last longer than the truck.

This is more my opinion but I wouldn't DIY on a nicer truck, while it does make a lot of sense for one that's...well seasoned. The pros will almost certainly do a better job but it will cost you. That's your call though. Look into UV resistance for DIY options because some (Herculiner) have none and will quickly turn a dull gray.

Products - I personally think Line-X is the best out there for this application by a wide margin. Rhino Liner is great but it's a lot heavier, grippier, and has more texture. Line-X is thinner, lighter, and smoother. Their color matching and UV protection has great reviews and I didn't encounter any stories of people that were disappointed. Cost is probably going to run you between $2500 and $5000 though.

Resale impact - Not remotely interested so I didn't look into it. It's my truck and I'm never selling it.

I haven't taken it to Line-X yet because I just can't justify that kind of expense on something that's ultimately cosmetic. I love the idea of not worrying about scratches and just cleaning the whole thing in 10 minutes with a powerwasher and a brush, but at the end of the day it doesn't prolong the life of the vehicle any more than basic yearly maintenance would. I touched up a few rock chips this spring with a "color matched" kit and they look like crap now but at least they can't rust.

here is a pic of his truck. He is a rep for Decked Truck Storage.

He was going to have it done in the blue on the side of the truck, but worried about the resale in a few years (he drives 50k a year in the truck)

Yep, just like any finish work.

Did you not look at www.monstaliner.com? Look at their customers submissions. Some pretty impressive stuff on there. Inside and out.

    http://www.monstaliner.com/images/jobphotos/xl_photo_(70).jpg

While it can be sprayed, if you have the facility, it can applied with a small roller. It's a much smoother finish as it has no rubber chip stuff in it, and it is UV stable.

I was about 'this close' to treating my Sonoma to this product when the wife said 'find an access cab vehicle, I want more storage', and give the Sonoma to someone in need of transportation. (I quickly obeyed ;))

Since my little base 5 lug is a long term keeper, there will come a point that the black bumpers and rockers get a bit abused. I'll likely refinish them with this product then, maybe in white to blend with the truck...........

Tons of helpful info on here, no consideration into vinyl wraps? I like the sounds of that Line-X but the price is a bit steep... In Canada 2500 USD runs me at about 4000 CAD. Steep for paint. I am not your desert dune LT rider, I crush through old cutovers pole/ pipelines and the bush. Tough on paint seeing as most of these areas are ATV friendly and give my nice red paint some front to back white streaks. Its not bad yet seeing as its only a year old, but one day.

Fine for street queens. It's appropriate for some applications, but not cheap, not 'brush' durable.

www.monstaliner.com DIY with a better product.

    www.monstaliner.com Laugh at brush.

It comes in colors. Look at the website and gallery pages.
