6months is a long ass time to wait to try and return this. Granted it was the companies mess up....you, as the consumer could have at least opened them when you got them to insure no damage AND correct color. I would not let a package, something expensive and custom painted sit around unopened for half a year to see if anything was wrong with them.

Agree with the previous comments. Sending you the wrong color is on them. Not opening the box for 6 months to verify the order is on you. Maybe there is a compromise in there somewhere if you approach them that way.

    A bunch..and no build thread!
In the first post, OP states he was waiting until he was on leave. His sig says CDR, USN, RET. Meaning, dude was/is a retired US Navy Commander (O-5). Depending on his status at the time of delivery (possibly did not separate yet) there is a very good chance he was not able to physically LOOK at the parts.

Either way, the company should be liable for their screw up regardless of the time it took to notice it.

I bought a hood from Revemoto last month. Came in not matching the color of the rest of my truck despite being the correct paint code. I checked on the hood the day it arrived and failed a claim that same day. They refunded me $1300 to have a local body shop repaint the hood to match the rest of my truck. I'm actually taking my truck in today to get that done in about an hour and a half.

To me they have great customer service and did the right thing to make sure my hood matches the rest of my truck. I'm sure they didn't make any money off my order but sometimes that happens.

The claims process was simple and easy too, filled out a claim form and that same day someone got back to me. This was during Thankgiving so I had to wait until after to get a quote from a body shop. I just sent that in, and they verified the amount with the body shop and bam, refund.

I'd recommend them, just don't buy a custom painted part and then not look at it for months.

I see a situation here where both sides are in the right while both are also in the wrong. The seller has an obligation to send you the correct product as ordered and should be willing to make it right. The purchaser has a 30 day window in which to inspect and verify that the product received is correct and undamaged. Both sides to this end have failed. I think both sides need to step up and work out a way to resolve this issue. Buyer should be willing to pay shipping costs to return the incorrectly painted parts and the shipping costs of having correct parts sent to him. Vendor should get the painted parts back and repaint them to the correct color.

After reading through the responses I’m changing my mind a bit. I think this post is the most fair to both parties. Some responsibility, and cost, on both parties.

UPDATE: ReveMoto has agreed to repaint the flares at their cost. I will pay for shipping to and from. I believe this is a reasonable and equitable solution. Lesson learned: Just like when you go through the Chick-Fil-A drive through......check your order.

If the return window is less than 30 days, I would side with the company. Should they do the right thing? 100% they should, but are not obligated to. Really the argument here is, what the company should do versus what the company actually has to do.

Again, assuming that there is a published return policy, the consumer is at fault for not complying to the terms and agreements. You have a window of time the company allows you to inspect the product and check for accuracy. People make mistakes and this why a return window exists.

I think this is what youre doing, but you could file a claim with your credit card company as you may have some leverage using thier claims process.

Unfortunately I can relate to this. Ordering parts for a project and not checking thing out till it’s time to use them on the build, and finding it’s a wrong part 3-6 months later. My experience is most companies will not honor returning the product after 30 days. C.L. Is your friend

Same... unless that part about filing a claim with his CC is him trying to get all his money back and get the flares repainted.

I feel like this is kinda bad form by the OP here. Ordered parts in June, received them in July, never checked them and now 6 months later blasting the company on a forum where there are potential buyers.

Seems like they are going above and beyond by going against their own company policy to make this right. I don't know of any company that has a 6 month return window.

I think you are totally in the wrong.
What company do you know will allow 6 months for you to let them know that your order was wrong. Yes they should correct their mistake but you were wrong for waiting outside of the claims window.

I think it's unfair to go online and try to blast them when you failed to acknowledge your screw up. Seeing their reviews and knowing others who have brought from them, they have seemed to make any issue right and be a great company. It's simply, read the terms, follow the policy and any company would make it right. I think the solution they gave is fair
