im looking to get some retro vinyl decal stripes to put on the front fenders of my 2nd gen. I’m wondering if anyone has done it, if so what size, length and angle did you do? I attached a picture of the colors and angle I’d like though it’s not on the front fenders it’s the desired look I’m going for. I already found someone to do them I just need measurements if anyone has done it. I’ve tried searching and there was a thread that talked about the attached picture but couldn’t find it. Thanks for any input!

I thought about doing exactly this a few months ago, then decided to keep it simple with that electrical tape like you saw on my IG.

I already have 3 sheets of 12x48 inch vinyl in the ironman colors plus a cutting mat and exacto. If you want to drive up to Sandy, we could play around with it.

I found a 30 degree angle is pretty close for the look you want and about 16, call it 20 inches would give you plenty of working room, then just trim the excess.

1/2 inch gap, 30 degree backsweep, 3/4/5 inch stripes

I found someone that's going to make it for me I just need the distance from the top of the flare between the hood. Do you have that? I'm going to have it angle towards the back at a 30 degree angle instead of forward. It would be cool to come up and see how it would look.

Would be cool to meet up one day and see how it would look. When are you going to play around with it?

I never got past the MS paint render above. I like the low key aspect of the mirror stripes. Had the vinyl just laying around for a few months.

For distance, I can't quite tell what you are asking. You want the top of the flare to top of the quarterpanel/gap in the hood? It was around a foot if you include a bit to tuck under the rubber flare gasket and around the radius into the engine bay.

Yes the top of the flare to the top of the quarterpanel/hood gap. Was that including the 30 degree angle?

I want to say yes, but the stripes were different lengths, since the flare drops towards the front. Gimme 45 mins or so and I'll go out and measure it again.

I liked it the way I rendered it because it flows with the fender lines.
