Hi all, new to the forum. I have 2022 SR5 with the XP package. Would really appreciate which way to go with some retro decals.

I am having a hard time deciding which color of Taco Troopers retro stripes to put on the truck. I like the ones that have the red just for some color but I also like the monochrome ones with the hood decal since my truck is white with black. I am also totally fine with just keeping it as is with no stripes. Adding a pic of my truck and both decal kits that I’m thinking of to see what you guys think or what you would do.

Because you asked, my personal opinion is that retro stripes/decals don't fit on modern vehicles. Hence, auto manufacturers don't do it anymore.

It was a brief fad, and it's dead.

    Gun to my head... monochrome.

i think the decals cheapen the over all look... your truck looks better without them.

    Monochrome.

I’m going with the orange set for my celestial silver. But only on the rear sliding window trim, gas hole cover, license plate frame and maybe a badge on the grill.

    Nothing on the paint.

I'd leave it as is, the white is so clean! HOWEVER, playing along with the choices you've given, I dont mind the monochrome. If you did just that portion on the bedside. I wouldnt do the front doors or above the front fender.

Either way, it's your truck, so even if 1000 people said "all decals are fugly", but you like them, then do it!

    Welcome to the forum :hattip:

Do what makes you feel good, when you come out of a store and think "damn, that looks sharp" you have nailed your personal look.

My opinion: Go full Storm Trooper -- pull the door emblems off, go with black flares, black rear bumper ends and white letter tires. :)

Even Fred Williams took the stripes off of snowflake. They made it easy to spot him around town.

I'm a hard pass on both those stripe options. Full stormtrooper is how I like the white tacoma. Nice and clean.

    Another vote for the red.

In the 80s and early 90s you could tell the year by what stripe was on the truck.

I like the red. It's a nice pop of color but I think I'd only do the bedside not the fenders and Back along the door.

I was thinking the opposite, only do the front fenders and extend the line all the way back to the rear quarter and end a few inches before the tail light or just beyong the middle of the rear quarter. That way you have the style of retro with an updated look.

    A long hockey stick.

    What did you decide?

I have to agree. That Heritage edition 4Runner looks awful with those stripes they don't fit the profile of the vehicle at all. The 4Runner wolud look better with out them.

I do like the stripes on the VooDoo blue long bed from a member here. I can't recall his handle to give credit.

The brown gray and tan stripes don't look bad on Pyrite Mica, and thought those might not look bad on a regular cab, but I think the back slash stripes \\\\\ are a little more clean looking.

Anybody here thrown retro decals on Calvary Blue? I want to, but in my mind the colors would clash a little bit.

I just have the 3 small stripes in front of hood and grille. I like them, just a little bit of color.
