Considering installing a rapid charging port inside the dash and then putting a port in top of the dash and mounting this retractable charging cable inside the dash so only the tip sticks out of the dash when not in use..... Just the tip.

    Here's the cable:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KGSJB1B/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_4W0Y1WVR7PPVVBYHSFD2?_encoding=UTF8

I have the expedition essentials track mount phone holder and think it will work nicely.
So sick of cables hanging around but don't like being restrained by short cables.

Will have the tip of the cable stick out where the red square is.

Once I get around to it I will update.

If anyone has already done it or gets to it before me let me know how it turned out.

Looks like that cable that you linked doesn’t like to be expanded from one side.

If you're gonna get a semi permanent retractable cable, spend as much as you can. That cable endures tremendous strain.

Damn, I'm having a hell of a time finding one that only retracts from one side.
The one I did find was bright green and looked like junk.

Starting to consider doing these instead and adhering them to the ram mounts and then just attach the wire to arms. Then I don't have to see any wires.

They look really cool and after checking out some reviews they work really well.
Only problem with these is they are all one offs and I have two phone mounts (work and personal) and them not matching would drive me insane.
I already have a hard time having the old style ram mount next to the new, lol.

I ended up finding a magnetic wireless charger and have been very pleased with it. I think its about the cleanest you can do.

I went wired and hacked this together
    [IMG]
    parts:
    Hondo Un-holey mount: https://shop-hondogarage.com/products/un-holey-tacoma-dash-mount
    Home Deport Plexi
    3M double-stick tape
    Phone Holder: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075Q9V4VN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8
USB C Cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N94GEV6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8 (looks like it's out of stock now but you would need to find one that has a similar long body so it can pass through the mount. I did NOT clue it but it has a nice pressure fit. Because it is NOT glued, I can push it out of the holder and remove the dash trim easily. Yes, I keep going in the dash for other mods so it mattered to me.

NOTE: v2 in the future will have plexi flush with holder to clean it up but since the phone is always in the holder it doesn't bother me (yet).

    Edit: updates and notes
