    2012 Tacoma TRD Off-Road w/JBL Audio Package
I have a 2012 Tacoma TRD Off-Road with the JBL audio package. My factory reverse camera displays on the factory touch screen currently. I’m planning on installing a Pioneer DMH-W2770NEX. I want to maintain my steering wheel controls & want my factory camera to display on the new head unit. This particular head unit states it is “backup camera ready” & that you can maintain steering wheel controls. Do I still need to purchase an interface? If so, is there one for my truck that allows for both SWC retention & factory reverse camera retention? Been looking at the Crux SWRTY-61S, but this only mentions SWC retention. Do I need this & a separate adapter for the camera? If so, what is the correct adapter? Haven’t found much online & feel like I may be overthinking it. Any help is appreciated.

Hopefully if you are set on the DMH-W2770NEX it comes with an adapter. I've gone through three DMH-W4660NEX models and none of those had the right wiring so I cut and spliced the factory harness. Some other headunits come with proper wiring but I could never figure out what harness to make it work. You will need an iDataLink Maestro RR to retain steering wheel controls. Just like was said above, go to Crutchfield and see what they list as needed parts.
