Hey all, I've been looking for some advice on whether I should replace or resurface my rotors, or should I just replace the pads and leave the rotors as is. My rotors look like there in great condition. No grooves or warping. I have about 27,000 miles on them. My pads are about to hit the 3mm mark. Any Suggestions?

I think you'd be fine slapping a set of pads on and go another 27,000 miles

If there's no serious grooves and the truck doesn't shake when applying the brakes a pad slap should be fine

Correct I don’t have any issues with braking. Thanks for the advice. The more info and advice leaning towards this option for my situation gives me more confidence. I’ll probably order tomorrow and post results in a week or two.

I went over 100k on my first set of brakes and am 90k on the second. Seems there may be a problem somewhere with yours at under 30k. Just throwing that out there as something to look into.

    Yes

    From Tire Rack:

Brake Pad & Rotor Bed-In Procedures
    (Lea en español)
All brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotor they will be used against to maximize brake performance. The bedding-in process involves a gradual build up of heat in the rotors and pad compound. This process will lay down a thin layer of transfer film on to the rotor surface. Following the bed-in procedures provided by the manufacturer will assure a smooth, even layer of transfer film on the rotor and will minimize brake judder.

Repad. Clean rotors with a scotch brite and brake kleen first. Lube all caliper motion points. Properly bed new pads.

Yes. In fact, folks rolling off dealer lot should do same. But it's too complex for the average buyer to do or dealer to teach.

Agreed. 50-60k should be a minimum on front pads that are not abused and functioning properly.

Not sure why you need new brakes on a 2015
