I too had my Combo meter replaced under the TSB in 2016. No random resets since. I am on my second battery and honestly don't remember if it reset when I had to jump start it. At the time, I was more concerned about having the truck reliably start than what the Combo meter said.

Mine reset when I replaced the battery even though they used the 12V power device to keep the truck “alive” but the last few weeks has been the first time since then. I hope my battery isn’t dying again. The OEM battery lasted about 3-1/2 years but this aftermarket battery is only 2-1/2 years old.

I noticed my trip meter reset on the way to Utah parked either in green river or farmington nm, and the trip reset to 0, but sat in lehi for 3 days and stayed with me since for over 2k miles.

Well my truck is now experiencing this issue. I’m going to get my battery tested but I just got a replacement 3 months ago. Think they will honor a truck with 76k miles?

I had a strange one... while highway cruising, my old lady turned around to feed the kids a snack (kind of like twisting herself backwards between the front seats).. In that moment the airbag light, seatbelt light came on the dash, along with the "passenger airbag off" light, AND a trip meter reset (trips A and B). Has anyone has an airbag light come on associated with an uninitiated trip reset? Definitely had nothing to do with the battery as we were cruising. Airbag light has stayed on, going to the dealer tomorrow. The trip meter reset at the same time can't be coincidence...

The truck did have 2-3 uninitiate trip resets in the past, always during starting in extreme cold though.

I've been having this issue very intermittently since I bought my truck in 2020 from the dealer. It was a 2016 that was traded in with 50,000km on it at the time. Sometimes I can get 5000km or more before it resets. Sometimes it happens weekly.

Might be a stupid question but is the TSB a recall thing where I don't have to pay for it? Or is it a warrenty thing where I'm only covered within a certain time frame or milage since purchased? I did get a warranty of sorts when I bought the truck. If it's something that I have to pay for I will likely just suck it up as it isn't a huge inconvenience.

Alternatively, is there any way I can fix it on my own?

Check out post #350 for a copy of the TSB. Looks like the repair is covered under the Toyota 3 year warranty period. I had my Combo meter replaced in 2016. Dealer had to order the new Combo meter with my exact mileage so there is no ODO issue when I sell it. The link below will make it easier for you to find post #350.

This just started happening this week with my 2017 TRD Sport. I was starting to wonder if perhaps I need a new battery as it has occurred twice this week since our weather has gotten cold, below freezing and snow this week. Happened Monday and again this morning. Truck only has a little over 20k miles on it. Bought CPO in 2020. Any chance I'm still covered?
