I asked for and received advice for my 2002 Prerunner. I purchased what was recommended here. My plan was to have a shop install the front struts. Unfortunately, that was going to be toooooo expensive so I am going to try it myself. One of the videos here showed a member also replacing the "top hat bushing" on the struts.

It looks like they are easily available but should I question the quality?

4Runner Trail wheels and Toyo Open Country ATII tires 265-70-17. Cosmetic stuff like Pro grille and OffRoad black bumper trim, vinyl delete on side, added hood graphic, OEM tube steps.
I just bought the Monroe Insta-strut replacements complete with spring and shock and it was a piece of cake.

Did you check on a price if you remove the whole assembly let them swap just the strut cartridges ??

Unless you have a strut compressor trying to do change them yourself could prove quite dangerous .

Not real hard to swap out the complete spring and strut assembly maybe that is what you meant .

Living down south you should not have to fight the rust and broken bolts of the great brine belt.

I would go with Toyota Bushings sometimes cheap price is cheap quality.

I have quotes ranging from $300 to $375.00 for installing the struts and doing an alignment. I already have new Bilsteen struts in hand. I guess I will order the bushings from Toyota.

    Thanks to all.
