Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I was never wild about the shark fin on a truck, less so when I found out the fin itself is unused. The functioning parts are all in the base.

I would like to install a regular rod antenna for AM/FM, I'm told the GPS antenna is in the dash somewhere, so that leaves Sirius/XM radio. If I could just get a flat satellite radio antenna that would fill the holes in the roof, have the right length of cable, and have the right connector...

Has anyone successfully done this on a Gen3?

There's a pretty good thread on how this is done on a Gen2:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...shark-fin-with-a-oem-satellite-stubby.552228/

...but it was mentioned that this doesn't apply to Gen3.

I suppose I could always get a regular Gen3 shark fin, cut it down, remove the unwanted parts, and fill it with urethane rubber or some such goop. It'd be nice if there was some cleaner way.

I like my shark fin. It makes my truck more aerodynamically stable.

Yeah, they aren't on the website. This is MESO's twisted sense of humor which basically is a product tease of something he's working on. That's why we love him. ;)

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
It was a collaboration with Uptop Overland, I believe. They sell it there as an accessory to provide infil points for power into the cab as well.

Should be a good seller since they relocated the shark fin on the 2020's and maybe 2019's so even the factory roof rack won't work properly.

I love my shark fin. It gives me great stability when crossing deep rivers and lakes.
