Strater located on passenger side--1, disconnect negative battery cable.--2, locate and disconnect wires on starter (note where they go)--3, position new starter and finger-tighten bolts (it helps to use some sort of brace to hold starter for you)--4,reconnect wires to their noted terminals--5,torque down mounting bolts tight--6, reconnect negative battery cable ***make sure all connections and mounting bolts are securely tightened*** ..........hope this helps:)

How do I get to the two bolts that hold the starter in place? I tried and it seems really tight in there so it is hard to get my socket wrench in there. What will i have to remove to get to it? I just don't want to pay someone to do an hour job, and then have them charge me a boat load.

i did mine a few weeks ago... you might try getting at it from your passenger side wheel well. it's tight... and takes some doing, but it's a toyota. you don't need to take anything off... best bet would be to buy a six pack and invite a friend or two over to help :)

if i remember correctly, it was a torque wrench and about foot of extensions. lol. i just made the wrench long enough so's i could get in there without busting a knuckle

*took 2 friend's tool boxes to do it*
