The two rubber strips on the roof of my truck (2009 DCLB)have deteriorated and look like crap. I want to replace them but have a couple questions.
Where do I get them? Dealer?
How do they install? Do they just press in? Do I need some kind of adhesive?
Anyone here ever replace them? Was it easy or a pita?

I haven't replaced mine but they click in (the passenger side came off on me in a car wash, which is how I found out). They are a dealer item. There is also a company that makes tracks for racks that install in place of the rubber roof moulding...I don't recall the company name but a search for roof moulding track in the 2nd Gen forum would be a good start if that's something you wanted to look into.

There are pretty expensive, mine look like crap as well...am thinking about just going over them with black rubber flashing tape.

And as someone who just lost my sister and best friend to it, fuck cancer big time!!

Thanks guys for the info. My truck (2009 TRD 4x4 DCLB) was just freshly painted a couple months ago and looks like new. Because of that I think I’m going to spend the $$$ and get the molding from the dealer. Since I spent the money to have it painted I want it to look really good.

I was able to find some OEM strips from https://parts.toyota.com/ shipped to me from a dealer. Was about $70 per side. They have little adhesive pads that are nowhere near enough to stop them from moving around. I saw somewhere to use construction adhesive and that what I put all along the bottom of the strips. No problems

Email the techs at this dealership. They sell at wholesale price. I am in the process of changing out old front end suspension components. Lower control arms, outer tie rods, cam bolts, and all of the nuts and bolts that will be seized and rusted. Items shipped the next day with 3-5 day fedex.

I ordered the molding pieces and a couple of clips from my local Toyota dealer. The clips help the adhesive (or vice versa) hold the molding in place. I can hardly wait for the weather to clear so I can complete the install.
