Noticed one of the boots on R&P has torn almost in half. Since there doesn't seem to be any major leaking or drip puddles where it stays parked for 4-5 days at home, and the PS reservoir is not losing fluid, I am thinking I will be safe to just replace the boots and put some extra grease on the inner tie rod joint. Doing both sides since I'm already doing the UCAs as well.

    Couples things I'm questioning is:
    1) Is there any reason I HAVE to use the factory style CV clamps? Can I not just use a regular hose clamp that screw tightens for the inner clamp location?
2)I've read some reviews about some of the aftermarket boots cracking or dry rotting quickly. Any suggestions or experiences with choice of Boot/Bellow (OEM, Parts store brand)?

Most parts stores only include zip ties for clamping, and I don't want to use zip ties, and I dont have the CV Clamp tool. Also, it's kind of tight in the space where I need to get to these particular clamps and being able to use the stand screw hose clamp will make it much easier

    Thanks for any helpful suggestions!
