    Hi all,

New to the tire game and need to replace my current set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws. I bought this truck used, and love the more aggressive look of the Falkens, but I get a little more road noise than what I was used to in my F-150. I scoured the internet and this forum to land on the Michelin Defender LTX M/S, but after a debacle at Discount Tire and a conversation with Michelin directly, I've learned this particular tire (265/75 R16 116T SL) is discontinued.

Michelin told me that the M/S2 is going to replace the old M/S tires, but they don't have plans to release a 265/75 R16 anytime soon. They are going to be releasing a 265/70 R16 next month in the M/S2, but only in an XL load range. My question is, am I better off getting the M/S2 in the 265/70 XL, or is there a comparable tire by another manufacturer that would fit my needs of a daily driver in the city?

I'm looking for something less All Terrain and more All Season (quieter, but not a sleek road tire). Snow performance is less of a factor since I live in Texas. I hit mud a few times a year back home, but it barely touches grass 99% of the time. Open to any and all suggestions y'all might have.

Every major brand has a highway tire (HT), but I don't think any are better than the Michelins at that.

Personally I'd go with the new Defenders in the stock size, if this is just for commuting and pavement driving.

Speaking of stock size, what is it on the SR, the 245-width? I know 265 would be on the TRD models. Might want to check availability of both tires in your actual stock size (check manual or your door frame sticker).
