Anybody replace the front door weatherstripping with the updated version that cures the kazoo? Is it as easy as popping out the old clips and pushing the new ones in? Anything to watch out for?

I just did mine a couple weeks ago, really simple and easy. Just need to remove the 10mm bolt on inside of door check(in between both hinges of door) to get the door gasket off and back on. I used a little panel removal tool to get the old clips out.

Thanks for the tip about the door check. Did both sides today and it was pretty easy. Hardest part was getting the old adhesive from the old weatherstripping off the top part of the door. Hopefully this upgrade quiets all the door seal noise down that shows up in the colder weather.

Do one of you fine folks happen to have a part number for the updated seals?

Picked mine up from Conicelli Toyota for $57.83 each. Code welcomeback10 worked as well.

Do you have to be super careful in lining the new weatherstripping up exactly as the old one was or do the little clips like 'force' you to do it correctly? What I mean by this was my plan was to trace the old weatherstripping first with painters tape before removing it so I know exactly where to put the new weatherstripping on. I have the new TSB weatherstripping parts already I just haven't installed them.

Nope no need for that. The clips are color coded as well. The part with the double sided tape goes at the top of the door. Just note the colors of the clips when you pop the old ones off. Honestly, the hardest part is getting the old double sided tape off the door from the old weatherstripping. Good luck!

Yes. It did for me. I tried the homebrew version with tubing for a while and then bit the bullet and got the new OEM seal. Never had the kazoo since.

GREAT! And thanks for addressing the homebrew option. Ordering them now... The kazoo just hit me out of the blue and it’s annoy AF!

The updated seals totally cured our 2015. Install really couldn't be much easier. I was skeptical, but it's been about 5 months and no noise.

Did you guys do all four door seals? As far as I can tell its just the two front doors.

Only the front door seals have the issue.

Yes. Replaced just the two front door seals on my AC and have not had any kazoo noises since. As others have said the install was like a 1 out of 10 for how easy it was. Hardest part was removing stuck on glue/gunk on the top of the door when removing the old seal.

I just ordered my seals from Conicelli Toyota. The only thing that was keeping from doing this fix before was because the seals were double the price of what I paid. Can’t wait to get rid of the kazoo!

Kazoo - this community is amazing, didn’t even know I was having a shared experience until now. I just replaced my front driver side door weatherstripping after living with it for a bit too long. The whole project took me like 30 mins and as others have said, getting the adhesive off the top of the door took some elbow grease and Goo Gone. The door check on the inside was quick to loosen (deep socket worked best for me) but I only had to remove the 10mm nut on the frame side to allow me to get the old striping off/new one on - left the door side nuts in place. I think I will pull the trigger on the passenger side as a preemptive strike to avoid getting stuck listening to that freakin’ noise. Has anyone had to replace (for any reason) the frame-side weather stripping of the same door? Worth doing while I am at it or overkill?

It took me a couple of rounds with the "customer complaint cannot be replicated" to realize I should look around a little more on here. The tubing made it better, but it bugged even more when it resurfaced after it was "fixed." Only new weather stripping killed the kazoo for good.
