Any ideas on an affordable replacement for the driver's bucket seat? It will cost me $250 to have the foam repaired but the headrest is broken as is the seat track cover. So I'd rather just get a new seat but can't find one that matches. Any other Tacoma years/makes that will be a straight replacement?
    Thanks!

The only seats that are direct bolts in are going to be 1st gen (1996-2004) Tacoma buckets.

The 3rd gen 4runner seats will have 3 out of 4 bolts line up. Getting the 4th bolt to fit requires either hammering on the mount or doing some modification.

You can buy Corbeau brackets and seats, but they are expensive.

Seats from other cars can be made to fit, but will require some metalwork (grinding rails off and welding the stock sliders)

The cheapest/easiest option is searching junkyards in your area for bucket seats.

Thanks @CrustyTaco. I didn't know that I could search for 1996-2004 seats -- that widens the scope.

No problem. Check out car-part.com if you haven't already. It's a good tool for searching junkyards.

I have the same issue with my driver's seat having torn cloth as well. I'm thinking about getting the Corbeau Trail Cat seats: https://corbeau.com/trailcat/
You would have to buy a pair of seats from them.

Dang! Those are nice, but pricey. I have been looking on car-part.com as recommended above and will hopefully find something on there. Seems like some suitable options.

    Tasteful modifications :)
Definitely check your local junk/salvage yard. Usually you can get decent deals there and talk them down depending on the amount of stains on the seat (lol)

Those look like a great option. Pricey AF. At that price point I’d look at Recaros.

Keep an eye on the 1st gen marketplace. They occasionally pop up for sale. These just sold for $160

That is great compared to mine if I was not across the country I would offer to buy it.

Ha, yes! I have always wanted one but now I do I realize all the little things that wear and are expensive/difficult to replace.
