Looking into replacing my bed rail caps that run on the passenger and driver side of the bed since they're damaged. I have no idea the official name nor can I find an OEM replacement or likewise of them. Anyone have and experience with these?

Check www.toyotapartsdeal.com I believe it is a rear-side panel protector?? That should get you close. The cost is about $114 to $140 per side. Yeah, I know that a lot for a stick of molded plastic. You may also try a wreaking yard?? It may be cheaper?

Anyone know if these will fit a 2023 Tacoma? I'm assuming the bed parts are the same. But a lot of the Toyota sites says this isn't compatible with the 2022's or 2023's.

The part numbers appear to be for a short (5ft) bed. The long (6ft) bed takes RH66248-04040/66248-04060 and LH66249-04040/66249-04060. The first number before the "/" is the standard No Tonneau Cover trim and the number after the "/" is with the cutouts for the TC. The above numbers were stamped on my 2023 Tacoma 6ft trim I took off when I sold my factory Tonneau Cover. The buyer gave me trim with no cutouts. I have the TC trim only used 2 months to get rid of still.

I spent hours at Toyota today.. they swear there’s no bed rails for the DCLB 2023 without the tonneau cutouts..

There's 2 part numbers in post #9. One for cut rails and one for rails with no cuts. I believe you want these for a 6ft bed with no cuts...

One thing to be aware of is when I sold my new OEM Tonneau cover because I was ordering a cap, the buyer supplied the trim without the cutouts from a different parted out truck than the truck he got my cover for. I had called over a dozen junk yards and while some of them had trucks with intact beds and trim, they would only sell the whole bed and refused to sell just the trim. One would think they sell just a fender or whatever you needed but not so for all the junkyards in my area.

Similarly, can anyone provide a part number for the plastic piece that sits above the rail along the cab left to right? Without it there's a gap between the bed rail and bottom edge of a topper that is hard to seal. or what solutions have you come up with to level that out? IMG_1967.jpg

I think that's the truck bed header rail. $56 on Amazon.

Update: This is the correct part
Truck Bed Side Rail - Toyota (65409-04010)
    2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma - 6540904010

Just bought it off of Ebay a used one for $120. Use the 5 x T27 torx screws to screw it in.

That piece is not plastic it's steel or maybe aluminum. There is also a rubber piece that sits on each side of that center rail between the plastic trim. Comes with the factory folding hard cover. It could help seal that area if installing a cap but still needs putty in the area to have a chance of not leaking there.
