Greetings all my Taco companions! Just curious to know if a blower motor is a major component since it just got replaced on my TT. Thanks everyone in advance!

Blower motor you mean HVAC fan right? Also what is TT (toyota tacoma)?

    Heat/AC? No.

What is a TT? You're not asking an Audi question are you?

TT - Toyota Tacoma. That's how I see it abbreviated here. Correct, HVAC fan. Not an Audi owner. Thanks guys!

Oddly enough, ive never seen tacomas abbrev as TT, but anyways, yes the blower motor was recalled a few years ago (in the non auto climate controlled models due to possible cracking of the housing) not sure which model you have, but its a fairly common occurrence. Mine was making noise on my 2017 model last winter on cold start ups and would slowly dissipate once warmed up but i swapped it out this past fall. Its a cheap part $45 purchased online. Not worth me bickering with the dealer and them not being able to replicate so i changed it out. Easy swap just unplug power and 3 bolts

    a major component?
I mean if you're freezing your ass off, or can't see because your windows are fogged up,,,,, yeah it's major. Hell, a $1 fuse is a major component if it's blown and has you stranded.
So long as it works again, don't sweat it.

I’m on my 3rd Taco since 2001. I’ve replaced blower motor probably 15 times. Twice already on my ‘18. Paid the dealer once then realized how easy it was. I buy one at O’reilly (lifetime free replacement) pay a little more but only pay once. Now, you can hear it start making noise, pull up to store parking lot, remove fan, go inside get replacement, then install. Whole process 15 mins. Don’t know why they go bad so often, but I live in hot, humid South La.

Me neither, i tried taking apart my old one to figure out where the clicking noise was coming from but couldn't figure it out, so just shoved it in a box in storage in case i ever need a quick replacement in the future, Funny thing is when they shipped me the part the 1st one the housing arrived cracked, so im wondering if the design is just weak where it renders some parts of the housing more likely to crack and thus making the noises we find.

This isn’t just a Tacoma problem. I replace my 04 Tacoma twice before i sold it (not because of that). Replaced both Honda’s we owned before. And my wife’s Volvo makes a racket but it’s not as easy to replace.
