I replaced the weather seals on my 2017 TRD Pro Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover.
I made my parts list by looking at other posts, but none was 100% complete. So I am posting what I bought.
OEM Tonneau Cover Weather Strip Dissolves | Tacoma World
    (384) Toyota Gen3 Tacoma Tonneau Cover Seal Replacement - YouTube

I purchased through a toyota dealer near me as I could not find any cheaper prices on any 3rd party site. Total with tax and shipping was $195.06.
Took 16 days to get the order delivered.

    -Rubber Seals-
(2ea) of these 64971-04011 (2 hinges between panels 1 & 2 closest to the cab) = $24.58ea QTY 2 [COVER, TONNEAU COVER HINGE, FR]
(1ea) of 64972-04011 (the double hinge between panels 2 & 3 closest to the tailgate) = $41.18 QTY 1 [COVER, TONNEAU COVER HINGE, RR]

-Joint side caps [Cap, Tonneau Cover Hinge End]-
64915-04010 - Front Joint, RH (passenger side, cab side) = $20.57 QTY 1
64916-04010 - Front Joint, LH (drivers side, cab side) = $20.57 QTY 1
64917-04010 - Rear Joint, RH (passenger side, tailgate side) = $20.76 QTY 1
64918-04010 - Rear Joint, LH (drivers side, Tailgate side) = $20.57 QTY 1

-Security Bolt (if you need to replace)
    M8x53mm
    M8-1.25 50mm bolt + stainless steal washer.
    Toyota P/N 64935-04010

    -Security Bolt Cover Flap-
    CAP, TONNEAU COVER HOLDER, NO.1 = $11.60 QTY 1
    64937-04010

    1. You can replace the end caps and weather strips without removing the cover from the truck. Same as the youtube video.
    2. You have to dig out the old seals from the T-Slots with a small pick or screw driver and pliers. It is a pain to remove as parts of it tear off and you have to dig those pieces out separately.
    3. Verify all the groves are clear.
    4. Change the end caps. Each use T-25 torx.
    5. Install the weather strips. They have notches on the bottom that match to a pin at each side in the groove. Line up those notches and just start pushing in. Dont need a rubber mallet, you can easily push in by hand.
    6. To remove the old cap, I used a screw driver and broke the tabs on the inside as I could not get it to pull off.
Then you line up the new cap and press it down. It was a little hard to press down.

Here are the notches in the sides of the weather stripping and the bump inside the groove that needs to be lined up.

Toyota definitely did not use rubber and plastic that are UV and Ozone resistant in these Tonneau covers.
This really is a design defect for it to be decomposing like this. I have only seen plastic and rubber do this on BMWs. And yes, charging $200 to replace their defective rubber is pretty bad. The parts have to be less than $30 total to manufacture if they are low volume parts, less cost if high volume parts.

Rub some of this into your cover in order to restore the original color. It does not wash off like 303, it is not greasy and the color holds up well even after multiple automatic washes.

Two initial coats should get your cover looking like new. I do not polish or rub it off after applying. Rub it in like sun tan lotion with a microfiber.

Any idea on how long that lasts? I wonder if a plastic paint would last longer.
But I will give it a try.

Just wanted to say this helped me a ton ordering the right parts

One thing, when replacing the end caps, 2 screws for the larger cap rusted out. Anyone know the size of the screws for the end caps for a replacement?

What did you end up doing with your green cover? I gave up and painted my green cover last week. Thanks for the parts numbers.

I was hoping to get confirmation on whether these part numbers work for absolutely all 3rd Gen Covers. Maybe @Jeff Lange could help?

Mine is an early 2016 (Oct 2015) model and I know that there were some revisions made early on.

I vaguely remember that there was an issue with the early covers and that they stopped selling them for a while.
Now on the parts website, the Part number 64971-04011 is a replacement for 64971-04010 and according to them, only fits 2017-2023 models.

This makes me think that my cover might be the old part number and that the new part number might have changed just enough to where it wont work on my cover.
Can anyone confirm that they have done this repair to one of the old covers?

(this is also a problem with the soft open tailgate dampener. they changed the design mid 2016 and it is impossible to get a genuine replacement for mine now that it has changed)

I'm torn between trying to repair this one vs just buying a new cover altogether.

I replaced mine with these part numbers and everything went fine.
