Am I the only one who would rather have a sunglasses holder than MTS 24/7?

Seriously though, is anything stopping me from replacing it with the sport bracket and either just removing MTS/Crawl dial or moving it somewhere else? I figure I'm modding so many buttons anyway I can figure something out. Will the ECM freak out if it's not plugged in on an OR model? Anyone done this?

    Cheers,

If you get a Manual Trans Off Road it will have the sunglasses holder.

Just get yourself an OCD tray, pop it in the center console and be done with it. I had a 2nd gen, loved the sunglasses holder up until I got a new pair of sunglasses that wouldn't fit. The OCD tray let's you put whatever size you want in there. It's actually a lot better in my opinion. It's like $10 too.

I had the same thought about the sunglasses holder. I wanted to find a good solution so I started with this:
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071JC29MQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
From there I was considering placing a post and loop hinge set up so i could flip the organizer up and get to the stuff underneath. I ended up not doing that yet because it has honestly increased the usefulness of the centerfold BIG time. I will say that the organizer I linked to you is the best interior mod you can get for under $12 (since the LED Lights cost a bit more than that :) ) The console its self is pretty damn deep and adding in that organizer makes it way more effective foe storing stuff you don't need to get at all the time (and it hides the ugly 4 port usb charger I keep in there to charge passengers stuff up )

    In the organizer I keep:
    Spare change in the holders
    A pair of sunglasses
    A 3x5 notebook
    Pens and pencils

    Underneath the organizer I have
    A tape measure
4 port charger with 4 cables running out to each of the 4 passenger seats
    A Sog multi tool
    A few knives
    A few Lighters
    4 flashlights (because I have a problem)
    some spare batteries
    Spare charging cables and adapters

The one I linked up above has a pass through for cables from the lower part of the box up and out of the lid without interfering with the top tray. as well as having the wide hole you see on the bottom of the tray for passing a wire(s) from below to the tray its self. I have found both to be pretty spot on. [And Im not digging around in wires that will make my transmission control system cry if they they short out.

photo is the stock photo off Amazon because Im not nearby the truck currently but you can see the neat little features they threw in very worth while.

As a side note the only thing that is so-so is the mats they put in the bottom which come right out they aren't as "Grippy" as I would like. I have thought about throwing a coat of plastidip or something similar on it to make it better.

So you'd rather have a sunglass holder than your MTS/CC functionality? seriously?

    why even get an OR?

This is what I just put in my truck. You would be a fool to pull the crawl control out imo.

I have the Amazon app and it doesn't let you link. Here's the screenshot. If you buy multiple items they give you a 20 percent discount. I also bought the organizer. It's definitely worth it also.

It's like a puzzle to install the organizer, follow the YouTube video for installation. Not difficult, just a correct order.

So I could have 4x4 and a sunroof. Those were my only demands for the truck. Turns out you get a lot of other shit I won't use. The sport is the same pricr but you get worse tires and a fake hood scoop. Why would i pay for less?
How often do you bury your car in sand to door depth just to use it as the Toyota video shows it's purpose? I rarely even use 4x4 unless I need to let alone CRAWL. I don't drive uphill on a 30 degree incline with a boat every day or bury my car in sand on purpose.

Besides, as I stated in the post, I'll just move the buttons somewhere else. I'm not throwing the unit in the trash.

your truck, you do what ever you want and spend what every you please.

but... for the sake of discussion, you could have gotten an SR or SR5 with 4x4 and saved some money (and have room for your sunglasses!)...

but again... you're truck. enjoy my friend.

And if you don't need glasses, there's always this option.

Wait, so you'd rather try to move a complex computerized control unit than get a $11 sunglass holder?

Or you could just buy a $12 dollar shelf for the center console and be done with it...
